In the least shocking news of the day, Adam "Don't Call Me Pacman" Jones has been suspended (as expected) once again. In the wake of his recent incident with one of his team-issued bodyguards, Jones was suspended indefinitely by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, only days after Jerry Jones announced that he would not take any action against Pacman, and even went so far as to say that it wasn't Pacman's fault. This flew in the face of the Dallas media, where many were calling for Pacman to be kicked off the team.According to reports, the suspension will be at least 4 games. At a time when the Cowboys just lost Tony Romo and Felix Jones to injury, this is just another loss to pile on top of the others.
According to Goodell, the main reason for the suspension was the fact that alcohol was involved. This was in direct violation of Pacman's agreement with Goodell, after his previous suspension.
It's clear that out of Pacman Jones' priorities, football is not at the top of the list. He's a talented player, but there's no way he's this talented, and worth all the trouble that he has been causing for the team and the league.
In light of his recent troubles and previous suspensions, it is not inconceivable that this could be the end of Pacman's career. He missed all of last year due to suspension, and Goodell has shown that he has very little tolerance to players who tarnish the league's image with off-the-field incidents. We'll see if he makes a return this year, or if the Cowboys (and the league) give up on him, much like the Titans did. One thing is for sure: it worked for them.
