Remember that bizarre sports injuries list? Yeah, we've got another one to add. While Bruce Pearl obviously spent his nice chasing some cats, Tennessee women's coach Pat Summitt went chasing after a raccoon. This is all true.
“I momentarily lost it,” Summitt told WBIR-TV. “The raccoon was about to attack. I just knocked it off the deck, and fortunately nothing happened but a dislocated shoulder, and it’s back in place.”I can understand injuring oneself chasing an animal away, however I'm not sure I get the whole 'separated shoulder' portion. You think we could get her to elaborate on the "momentarily lost it?"
“When I realized what could have happened, it almost brought me to tears. It wasn’t very smart on my part,” Summitt said.
Sadly, picturing Pat going berserk on some raccoon doesn't seem like a stretch.
