Look, I'm not a Patriots fan, but if I were, I'd have been upset about the Super Bowl loss. And I'd have been upset for more than a day, maybe two or three. But I sure as hell wouldn't have done anything like this. There are now a few idiotic Patriots fans out there claiming that something was amiss on that final drive by the Giants - yeah, like they scored on your team and won the Super Bowl.
Anyway, the first bone of contention is that after Brandon Jacobs got that first down on the final drive, the clock was improperly stopped since there was no call for an official measurement. Or at least I think that's the case, I don't know, I'm not really paying attention to this stupid claim anyway.
Had this illegal clock stoppage not occurred there would have been 40 seconds less time on the clock, 46 seconds less if you consider the six seconds added on after the play. This means that after that play, if the clock was running the way it is supposed to by the rulebook, there would only be 42 seconds left on the clock. Furthermore if this was not enough on the subsequent play time was not taken off during the play followed by a random flashing of numbers on the clock.
These foolish fans even have a petition you can sign online demanding an investigation of the final 1:40. The petition will be sent to Goodell - who will never read it.Arguments like this are always ridiculous. First of all, just because this happened doesn't necessarily mean the Giants wouldn't have won anyway. Second of all, you never should let a game come down to something like this anyway.
But if you think that's all that bitter Patriots fans will throw at you, oh, you're sadly mistaken. There's also a loser out there who broke down the entire legendary Tyree catch play, looking specifically at the Pats' rush on Manning. Here's one example.
The guy seems to think both Seymour and Thomas got facemasked on the play. I went through all his slides and didn't see a single one. Truly delusional. You see what you want to see.
There's also a YouTube video of a guy breaking down the ways the refs screwed up on the Giants' final drive, but your time would be better spent smashing your head into a table for 5 minutes than watching it.
This, Pats fans, is why America hates you. You lost. Just accept it.

Pats fans blame the loss on the last play of the game? Huh? You dopes lost because Bill "The Hobo" Belicheck was outcoached. You guys were lucky the Bowl was not played a week after the Chargers - Championship Game. After the aforementioned tilt, Tom Brady, who I have an immense amount of respect for, admitted that the team needed the 2 week break because "We Are Exhausted". "Mr. Hoodie" pushed the squad to the physical and mental breaking point to satisfy his ego. You were lucky that Tomlinson and Antonio Gates DID NOT PLAY and Rivers (to a lesser extent) could not step into his throws. Most Pats fans did not care two flying figs about them before Bill Parcels showed up in the mid-90's.
I am a Boston fan too, but for God sakes, suck it up.
2/12/08 | Keeter | 92 respect
Not making excuses for Brady, but he WAS hurt. I think his poor play was more because of his injury than his girlfriend being there. He couldn't plant on that ankle at all, therefore he couldn't throw the deep ball with any accuracy. I like seeing the Pats lose though, so it all worked out in the end.
I know - I was being COMPLETELY sarcastic with the 'Gisele' comment.
The Giants D-Line won that game. The Pat's O-Line looked winded & tired as early as the 2nd quarter. I saw them gasping for air in the 2nd quarter, and at that point I came to the realization that the Giants truly had a chance!!
Plus, just like Romo, Gisele was there creating bad vibes !!! <kidding>
2/12/08 | azcardsfan | 4 respect
cmon guys I live in Boston no one and I mean no one is even talking about ankle, the Giants defensive line totally was in Toms head, us New Englanders that are actually normal know that, even if the ankle bothered him it wasn't the reason he was off, Brady has played hurt before, and also he had bad ankle in his first super bowl win, and that was worse, if anybody remembers he had to come out of AFC championship game and Bledsoe threw winning TD, and there was not an off week that year, cause of 9-11, so stop with the ankle crap and just give the Giants credit, believe me guys the people up here are not making excuses

The only way that game could've gotten any crazier was if that was completed. The scary thing is that it would've if it didn't get deflected.

And, NOT that I'm defending Tony Romo (or Jessica Simpson for that matter....even though according to her father she "has fantastic double-D's!!"), but why isn't anyone jumping on Brady for having Gisele (spell check?) at the Big Game.....and he stunk up the place ???

I'm not gonna say that the Pats-Ravens was fixed, cuz it's just bologna, but I'll say this, They sure missed a called by calling that Gaffney catch....a CATCH. Messed up thing is.....it even got replayed.....sad isn't it. LOL.

Sounds familiar... o yeah there were fans claiming that the NFL fixed it so that the Patriots would WIN in that game vs. the Ravens. Them NFL executives is some pretty sharp folks!

Actually, i've had my share of dealing with hostile fans. South Dakota, being Raider fan, you got to deal with the Denver Donkeys, the Vikings, and the Packer-backers. Then every time Davis does something truly bone-headed, like thinking about hiring Dennis Green, you wanna strangle the guy.
I've ran into some rabid fans out here, even some who like to say, how about that Tuck rule game....and needless to say, i'd rather not do any jail time for opening a can of whoop-ass on him.
I'm stuck in Denver donkey territory, and the roots run deep. And for sheer irony....I've never been to a Raider game. Call it fear of a jinx, bad luck, or, make it the last thing I do before dying. It all comes down to comparing fans, for say, you and the Cards, and Me with my Raiders.....Most of the ones i've seen, are nowhere to be seen now.....but the Raider fans are still showing their colors.

don't think so, Az.
I still feel ripped off by a Patriots team, that wound up hitting a soft Steelers squad, then ran into the Rams....and with the allegations that the Pat were taping, makes you wonder who else was taped in the previous 6 years, and only now were caught.
Personally, I enjoy watching the Pats lose, more than anything, because I'm tired of everyone, from Inside the NFL, to Yahoo Sports, to sports illustrated, ready to put them on the podium, before the game was played.
That's why the game is played, to see if they really are that great.
I can give props to my team, just like you can for the cards, who had a good year, hey, you didn't finish under 500.
Thing is, memories burn deep. Ask a Raider fan to forget the Immaculate Reception, or as we call it, the Immaculate deception. or the Lytle fumble.
I just find it funny, that the Pats are throwing a world class hissy-fit, because for once, they aren't the world champs, got denied the perfect season, and they don't like that feeling.
Now, I can imagine, they know how the Rams, Eagles, and Panthers all felt, in the three wins.
yea, well try living here, you cannot get away from it, I really was glad they lost so I did not have to watch all the bandwagon fans, but I will say this and its the last time I am gonna talk Pats, 1.most real pats fans are not making excuses, they are saying what was obvious, the Gmen defensive line dominated the game, and they were way more physical, and really did physically dominate the game, that said it still took a great last minute drive by the giants to win. 2. the reason I defend them at times is because people and please do not take it personally like you fail to give credit were credit is due, whether they beat a soft team or the refs blew the call they have been the best team in NFL the last what 5-7 yrs, and as far as spygate goes as every coach has stated they all do it. its was not even illegal except that pats did it on the sideline, as far as what they are saying about 1st super bowl against rams if they did tape walkthrough then thats another story and Bill should be suspended for a year and they will never be respected again, nor should they, anyway I am a true blue Cardinal fan and if they are ever good, you guys will really hate me cause I will gloat like no one has ever gloated before, can you imagine being a Cardinal football fan since I was a kid, and I played pro hockey, but always loved cards. strange but never said I was normal either.

yes it was because its true.
if it was the other way around and another team was whining like some of these fans are it'd be different.
the game is over. you had a great season, people need to move on already and stop complaining about it. MOST patriot fans are already over it.
it was a great game, the patriots put up a good fight. i congratulate them on that but dont try to take our win away from us when we deserved it.
you're still champions but just not superbowl champions. you have a record thats pretty damn good but thats not being appreciated because some people are bitter.

Find it funny, that Brady's bunch still thinks they got jobbed at the Super Bowl.
Heck, same thing happened, back in 2002, When they fumbled the ball away, and had to pay a ref to change the call, in New England against the Raiders....and now they're whining about being denied?
Guess what goes around comes around....that, and considering the Giants' player, Tuck, was outstanding.
I'd say if Brady and Billichoke can't handle it...get out of the game.
you have to be the most obnoxious fan on the planet, your hatred for Boston brings out your stupidity, as far as fans out here in boston as with everything in life you only get the bad not the good as 90% of New Englanders had nothing but great things to say about Gmen and their great win in Super Bowl as most said "they physically beat the crap out of Pats", the better team won that day

Some of the "signatures" on that petition are pretty darn funny though
My favorite "signatures" are:
5695. Bill Belichick: I wouldn't need to tape anybody if they'd just install my new rule "the game cannot end on a Patriots' losing score"
5690. Eli Manning: DisneyWorld Rocks! Cannot wait to get back to recieve my SuperBowl ring! Pats fans if you want somebody to talk too because I know it must sting, just give me a call on my cell. My cell phone number is 17-14 or you can call my hotel room number which is 18-1 Talk to you soon!
5664. Terrell Owens: It's not fair, that's my quarterback.
5508. Al Gore: I would like to sign this petition in favor of taking action against Global Warming.... Wait? Patriots? Screw this.
5451. Bill O'Reilly: This is nothing but an attack on America by liberal whiners from New York. The Patriots deserve their trophy. And that's the memo.
5402. Dane Cook: THERE'S ONLY ONE CHOKE!

Even if they was a face mask......so what. You can pull out every game in the World of Football and you always gonna catch something that slipped by. It's part of the game. Finally something went against the Pats, cause IMO, they should have lost to the Ravens in the regular season. That Gaffney catch was a no-no. Hey but the Ravens didn't sign no petition.
