I know pro football has a lot more players than any other sport, but I can't be the only one who thinks the league has a disproportionate amount of arrests in comparison to others.Today's not-so-humorous arrest comes courtesy of Willie Andrews of the Patriots, who had a rather poor reaction to his fiancee accusing him of cheating on her.
He pulled a gun out and stuck it into her temple. That would be bad.
Andrews' fiancee also told police that after Andrews was arrested that she was scared because he had "threatened to shoot her in the past." Um, so why exactly are you planning on getting married to this guy again?
You may also remember Williams was the dumbass Patriots player who got arrested two days after the Super Bowl for intent to distribute marijuana because he was carrying a half a pound bag of weed around with him.
What makes all of this even worse is that last month the Boston Herald wrote a puff piece talking about how Andrews had cleaned up his act. Not so much anymore.
Naturally the Patriots released a statement saying the team takes the conduct of its players "very seriously." Which is exactly why they employ habitual steroid and HGH cheat Rodney Harrison, meter maid runner-over Randy Moss, and a drug dealing offensive lineman. Because this team takes the conduct...ah, forget it.
This has been an arrestarific offseason for the NFL, which includes a charge of manslaughter against Saints player Charles Grant, who was indicted in the death of pregnant woman.
I realize I should probably go on some rant about what idiots football players are, but what's the point. It's not like anything I say is going to stop what's going on.
Plus I like reading hilarious arrest reports like this one from a little over a week ago:
Geoffrey Pope, CB, New York Giants. Arrested in Detroit after allegedly hitting a man over the head with a champagne bottle. Now that's classic.
