"Everyone has a game plan, until they get hit in the mouth."The Ravens were far more physical tonight, but between the ears didn't always keep it together. You need mind and body at 100% to beat the Patriots this year. You also need some luck which if you watched the game, can agree with me that Baltimore had barely north of zero. From the timeout just before a 4th down stop on the final drive to a tipped ball that was up in the air longer than a Tiger Woods drive but landed in the only place where Ravens' defenders weren't.
Most of you are clamoring about that late holding penalty, but I'd have probably called that one too. The bobbled touchdown catch is null and void because Bart Scott's clinic in composure would have give the Pats a 1st and goal anyway. Seriously, Bart. What the hell? Hilarious, but who throws a flag into the stands.
I think we're all wondering the same thing -- if it wasn't going to happen tonight, will it ever? Pittsburgh can definitely hit you in the mouth, but they won't have the added ammunition of the home crowd.
Lost in all of this will be how fantastic Willis McGahee played on the same day his good friend was put to rest. That's as good as I've ever seen Willis in the pros. And of course, the hail mary CAUGHT at the 1 yard line to end the game (nevermind Derrick Mason wiping out a few Pats).
Great game, which is odd for a Monday night.
Patriots 27, Ravens 24
