FanIQ | Sports Rumors, Gossip, Blogs, News & Discussion ForumsNew England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork sustained a torn Achilles tendon which ended his season. Now on the mend from the injury, he said that his recovery was going well and the tendon was healing promisingly. In his veteran years and now sustaining an injury of suck nature, many wondered if Wilfork would make it back at all and if he did there would be a change in his game. He tossed all the rumors out of the window saying that would definitely be back and was far from done.

‘’I’ll be back. There’s no question in my mind. That’s not even a question,’’ Wilfork said. ‘’People can worry about it. But not me. I’ll be back.’’

Wilfork has been limited to a walking boot for now and said that he was enjoying a speedy recovery from the Achilles tear. He said that he would be out of the boots within a week and would do his best to get back into the game as soon as possible. He added that he was not one to spectate the games from the sidelines and get no piece of the action.

‘’It’s always frustrating. The only thing I do, the only thing I know how to do is play football. And I can’t do it right now,’’ Wilfork said. ‘’But things happen for a reason. The only thing I can do is prepare each day and try and get better with the rehab, and that’s what I’ve been doing. Take it day by day and hopefully, I’ll get healthy soon.’’

He added that he wasn’t out of the game, he was just out of the field. Wilfork said he was still part of the team and participated in whatever he could. He was still watching the replays and films for assessment as usual and was lending whatever advice and help he could to the teammates.

‘’Whatever they see fit for what I can do, that’s what I try to do to help. If it’s me coming around to see the guys, or having the guys talk with me, or if it’s watching film with the guys, that’s what I’ll do,’’ Wilfork said. ‘’I’m still part of (the team). Sometimes I feel like I’m not because I’m not out there with them, but I’ll stay a part of them. I want these guys to feel the same about me.’’
