Hingle-USA TODAY SportsJust when Patriots fans were starting to get discouraged about their team's inaction during the free agency period, the Pats made an uncharacteristically huge splash, signing the best free agent available in former Jets and Bucs cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Revis and the Patriots agreed to a one-year deal for $12 million, which is $4 million less than his previous annual salary.

Compared to the 6-year, $57 million deal that the Broncos gave to Aqib Talib, this seems like a huge bargain.

Revis is still arguably the best cornerback in football, and he'll have a huge impact on the Patriots' defense.

Brandon Browner is visiting the Patriots today, showing that they're not quite done bolstering their secondary.

The Patriots released DT Isaac Sopoaga to clear up some money, and are also expected to restructure Vince Wilfork's contract, which could allow them to make a couple more moves before the offseason is all said and done.

We'll see if they can transform into a Super Bowl contender again.
