Then Gasol tore his plantar fascia, after dealing with tendonitis.
Now, the Spaniard will undergo the FAST Technique which, according to the Lakers, “uses a probe inserted into the knee which directs ultrasonic energy to eliminate scar tissue without damaging healthy tissue.”
FAST stands for Fasciotomy and Surgical Tenotomy, and it treats pain in the fascia and tendons in the feet, knees, elbows and shoulders. The 30 minute treatment has a usually quick recovery time since it’s minimally invasive.
The fact that the Lakers are doing this so quickly possibly speaks to their intentions to keep Gasol so they can rehab him quickly.
