Pau Gasol Might Not Be Able To Play On Sunday After All
After having some recent successful shootarounds and practices, it was projected that Gasol could join the lineup as soon as the Los Angeles Lakers' Sunday game against the Sacramento Kings, but that isn’t the case anymore.
He worked out on Saturday and experienced more soreness in his foot, which means he’s sidelined until further evaluation.
Specialist Dr. Kenneth Jung is going to take a look at him before the Lakers’ Sunday game to give an update, so there’s still a chance he can play if the soreness isn’t indicative of a lingering problem.
This could be the perfect game for him to come back because it’s unlikely that Kobe Bryant will play, which means that the lineup will be different than usual, possibly giving Gasol a way to work himself back into the rotation.
It’s so silly that Coach Mike D’Antoni hasn’t found an effective way to use one of the best big men in the league. That’s the biggest worry with Gasol’s return. It isn’t how he’ll play, it’s how he’ll affect the good thing they’ve got going on, which shouldn’t even be an issue at all.
