Penn State running back Silas Redd will miss Big Ten media days due to a trip to Southern California to meet with USC officials, reports Greg Pickel of PennLive.com.Blog Photo - Penn State Football: RB Silas Redd to Visit Lane Kiffin, USC

It was said that Redd was not a part of yesterday's team gathering to commit to coach Bill O'Brien for the upcoming year because he was heading to Chicago for the conference media days.

That is no longer the case.

If Redd ends up transferring to USC, he'd be an immediate factor in what should already be an explosive offense. The Trojans' depth at tailback is lacking, and Redd would potentially share the load with Curtis McNeal from Day 1, if not take all the snaps.

The 5'10", 210-pound junior carried the ball 244 times for 1,241 yards (5.1 ypc) and scored seven touchdowns as a sophomore in 2011.
