I personally have no problem with the Oregon football uniforms, but I know many people do. They're admittedly bizarre, but at least they're never boring. And, even better, they seem to be responsible for Oregon grabbing a top recruit.Yep, LeGarrette Blount, who was the top junior college running back last year, apparently made his decision of which school to attend based in large part on uniform designs - and Oregon won out. What's even weirder about this story is that Blount was playing at East Mississippi Community College. Naturally you'd expect him to wind up at one of the traditional Southern power schools. After all, he was on his way to Auburn after high school before becoming academically ineligible.
Last year he was about to head to Florida State when he saw Oregon play USC. Right then and there he pretty much made his decision.
Said Blount, "Those uniforms are tight."
"Would you go there?" a buddy asked.
"I'd go there."
Now at Oregon, Blount is still praising the uniforms."Would you go there?" a buddy asked.
"I'd go there."
"We don't wear the same thing twice -- I love that," he said. "I don't want to play for a sluggish-looking team."Remember, this was a guy who wound being academically ineligible to go to Auburn, so go easy on him. Anyway, Blount is 6-foot-2, 230-pounds and put on a performance in Oregon's spring game, so needless to say, the school is happy.
So, I guess the moral of the story is make ridiculous uniforms, get awesome running backs. Or something like that. I honestly have no clue.
