Peyton Manning has received an offer from the Chiefs

At least one team has already made Peyton Manning an offer

Now that Peyton Manning has hit free agency, one team has already offered him a contract. According to Brandon Spano, the Chiefs submitted their offer yesterday, and were the most prepared to offer a contract immediately.

With that offer already on the table, Manning is still shopping around and seeing what other teams have to offer. He'll meet with the Broncos and their team president John Elway tonight to see if that would be a good fit for him.

No matter how healthy Manning is, there should be no doubt that he's a better option than Tim Tebow, the current Broncos starting QB, who was statistically one of the worst passers we've seen in decades. Yet one website actually bought a billboard in Denver asking fans who they'd rather see playing QB for the Broncos.

If that poll doesn't end up being at least 90%-10% in favor of Manning, then Broncos fans deserve whatever they end up with.

The Dolphins are another ream said to be in the mix, and they certainly have some cap flexibility. Omar Kelly lists a few reasons why Peyton would be a perfect fit there.

This Peyton Manning Watch will be pretty fascinating, and it looks like there are a ton of teams jockeying for position. Where do you think would be the best fit?

Hey Pat--As a Patriots fan, what do you think about Peyton Manning going to play for Scott Pioli, Romeo Crennel and the rest of New England West?

I think it will be interesting, and could add another twist in the Brady-Manning comparison, which is already absurdly close in many ways. I think those guys (and Dwayne Bowe) could make Manning look pretty good, and vice versa.

That having been said, I'm not sure that a healthy Matt Cassel is that bad of an option, and they might be better off filling other needs instead of getting into the inevitable bidding war for Peyton.
