The Miami Dolphins are in market for Indianapolis Colts prized quarterback Peyton Manning. This news has been corroborated by various media outlets today. According to numerous reports, Manning is expected to wear a new jersey before the start of the new season. Manning, who made a record breaking deal before the start of the season has failed to appear in a single game for the Colts this season.

A series of back and neck related injuries have kept the aging quarterback restricted to the Operation Theatre this term. In his absence, the Colts succumbed to a woeful season. It seems like Colts’ admin has finally had enough of Manning’s injury issues. Well, they do have the No.1 Pick in the NFL Draft, therefore there should be little reason for worry.

According to reports if the Colts choose not to pay the four-rime league MVP a $28 million roster bonus he is due on March 8, Dolphins’ owner, Stephen Ross will try to swoop in for Manning. The deadline for paying Manning’s roster bonus is five days before the start of the new year, which gives Manning and Dolphins ample time to formulate a contract.

Manning was declared healthy for play before the New Year, but for some reason he continued with his role on the bench. Colts and Dolphins have a couple of other quarterback options as well. They could go for Balyor’s Robert Griffin, Packers soon-to-be free agent Matt Flynn or Stanford’s Andrew Luck.

Dolphins’ recently hired head coach, Joe Philbin was the offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers therefore he might side towards signing Flynn. However, Flynn, who was Aaron Rodgers’ backup at the Packers will be asked to carry a lot of weight if he goes to Miami. Fans and admin have been critical about QB Matt Moore, who went for 6-6 with 16 touchdown passes and 9 interceptions in 12 starts.

Dolphins haven’t had a winning record since 2008, therefore if signing Manning is an opportunity, the men from Miami will surely grab it. Well, if that doesn’t happen Dolphins will of course pick a top rated quarterback from the Draft.

Manning was and will be a legend for me... few in history will be lucky to even come near to the quality he showed in his prime... Good luck in Broncos

Well, Mr. Manning you certainly brought a lot of drama to the field... even when you're not even on it... Still Good luck

He'd be a fool to risk permanent injury. Neck surgeries are nothing to play around with. One good hit, could leave him paralyzed for life. It would surely be a shame to see "The Sheriff" end his career in a wheelchair. I don't think the Dolphins would pay the salary he would warrant for a QB that cannot put much velocity on the ball. He should consider life after football (as much as I like watching him) as either a QB coach or an OC. Plus spend some time with his young family. I would love to see the Colts keep him in this capacity.
