Phil Jackson to coach the Clippers?

A phone call the Clippers should at least make

After learning of the Lakers decision to go with Mike D'Antoni over legendary head coach Phil Jackson, the thought hit me that the following phone call should be made.

Phil Jackson's phone rings (house or cell, doesn't matter).....

He answers the phone and hears the following.....

Hi Mr. Jackson, this is Clippers GM Jerry Sacks and I'm here with director of basketball operations Gerald Madkins. We understand you have interest in returning to the bench and Mr. Sterling has informed us that he is willing to meet your demands if you would consider becoming the next head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Phil Jackson: I appreciate the offer but last time I checked you guys already have a head coach.

Sacks: We do?

Jackson: Let me think about it.

Sacks: Thank you Mr. Jackson, we look forward to hearing back from you.

Phone call ends.

Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRECould you imagine how insane that would be if Phil walked back into the Staples Center but as the head coach of the Clippers? It does appear Phil isn't too pleased with how the Lakers handled the situation. Never say never in sports. The Clippers certainly have the talent with Griffin and Paul.

If Phil really feels disrespected by what the Lakers did, now is the time for the Clippers to act. I actually thought of other places Phil could go to spite the Lakers, but no option is better than the Clippers. And I don't mean by talent, but by the fact that I doubt the Thunder would part ways with Scott Brooks at the moment and I doubt Phil would like Oklahoma City too much. And don't say south beach, because Riley and Jackson couldn't co-exist. Egos are way toooooooo big. Not to mention Spoelstra actually just won a title.

It would be hilarious if Phil walked into the Staples Center as Clippers coach, grabbed the house mic and told everyone how he will show the Lakers never to disrespect the great Phil Jackson (yes, third person). Phil almost turns into a pro wrestler who just turned bad guy or heel (for you wrestling fans) and tells the fans that he is the reason the Lakers won 5 championships over the past decade plus. He says Kobe and Shaq had little to do with any of it, and it was all him. And now his legend continues as he will lead the Clippers to the NBA Finals, where they will win the title and he will prove that he is the greatest coach of all-time. He then drops the mic and walks back to the bench.

Yes, I watch too much wrestling, but Phil Jackson as the next Clippers head coach would shock the world. Make it happen!!!!!!
