Phil Steele is out with his Preseason College Football Rankings. I think he's been drinking.

How about some college football discussion? It's only 24

22 Cubs blown leads away. Every year when I get this delivered, I'm reminded how much I love football.

If you're unfamiliar with Phil Steele, that's unfortunate. I actually think quite highly of him and his preseason guides are BY FAR the best in the business. That said I have a few issues with his Top 25.

Foremost, Hawaii at #12? Are you kidding? Now I know that while Colt Brennan is tossing for 500 yards against the worst defenses in the country, the voters will get all excited and vote for the Rainbows. But at no point this season, or this preseason will Hawaii be the 12th best team in the country. Nonsense.

Secondly, here's some teams that are criminally low:
#14 Florida - I know they lost some defense, but that offense will produce more points than these NBA Finals.
#15 Wisconsin - Outside of Michigan, the Badgers are the next best team in the conference. Unfortunately, Phil has Wiscy behind Penn State and Ohio State.
#20 and #21, Texas A&M and UCLA - We saw a little glimpse last year. We're going to see it for real this fall.
#37 Arkansas - Nutt is what he is, but Felix Jones and Darren McFadden deserve a little more respect than this, right?

Ok, I could keep going for a while. I'll let you take it from here.

I think South Carolina being ranked #13 is really really high. We play road games at UGA, LSU, UNC, Tennessee and Arkansas and have home games vs. Florida and Clemson as well as an improved(at least offensively) Kentucky team. While there is a very good chance we could be a better team than the last few seasons, we could still lose 5 games with our schedule, which has to be one of the toughest in the nation.

I agree about Arkansas as well, with McFadden and Jones, they will not lose too many games. #37? Not quite.

MY question, why is everybody dissin Rutgers?  They have a potential Heisman winning RB, and a pretty damn good QB.  Not too many players left, I see them above Penn State for sure.
