The Phillies might be trading one of their aces this offseason
As Cralg Calcaterra points out on Hardball Talk, it's hard to figure out exactly what the Phillies are doing.
Are they building for right now, as one would assume after the signings of Marlon Byrd and Carlos Ruiz? Or are they blowing it up and aiming for the future, which would be the only reason they should consider trading Hamels and/or Lee?
At the beginning of his era with the Phillies, I thought GM Ruben Amaro was a genius. He seemed to be making all the right moves, and the team was winning. Lately, I'm becoming more and more convinced that he's the exact opposite.
