The team is telling their veteran shortstop that he has two choices: Lead or leave.

They want Rollins to take more of a leadership role with the team, or they'll be forced to put him on the trade block and see what they can get for him.

There are a few teams out there looking for shortstops, and Rollins might fit the bill. Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias is out for the season, so they're looking to replace him somehow. There are rumors that Stephen Drew could do the job, but they still haven't signed him (or anyone else) yet.

The Mets could be looking for an upgrade over Ruben Tejada, as well.

Rollins has been around for a long time, and there's no doubt that he can maintain a leadership role with the team if he wants to. But it won't be easy. The Phillies are likely going to be a bad team this year, and things could get a little frustrating and contentious in the locker room.

Will Rollins make it through the end of the season in Philly, where he has played since he was 21 years old? Only time will tell.
