There are a lot of people out there who consider NFL players to be "thugs." And while there definitely have been some clear thugs in the league (Pacman Jones), I think that term generally speaking is misused. For instance, people call Plaxico Burress a thug. He's not a thug, he just happens to be an titanic dumbass. Plax doesn't go out looking to hurt people or anything, he just wants to unwisely carry his loaded pistol in his sweats. But perhaps that's still too thug for you, since it involves a loaded weapon. All right then, let's go to something that's just straight out total dumbass.
It seems that the always responsible Plaxico Giant is being sued in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, over a car lease that he allegedly didn't honor. That is of course if by "didn't honor" you mean "never returned the damn car." Seriously, I wish I was making this up.
Court papers say Burress leased a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche worth more than $36,000 from a Lebanon County car dealer in exchange for promises to appear at publicity events. But the civil complaint filed by car dealer Frederick Laurenzo says Burress never returned the car and did not show up to sign autographs. Laurenzo also says the car was seized by New York City police after Burress let someone else use it.
You know what, I'm not sure who's the bigger dumbass here. Plaxico for leasing and not returning a freaking Avalanche (seriously, those cars suck) or the car dealer who gave Plaxico the car in exchange for autographs. I'm seroiusly leaning towards the car dealer, in all honesty.
Anyway, Plaxico is supposed to appear in court tomorrow in Pennslyvania, but considering Plax habitually never showed up to Giants team meetings that he was, you know, PAID to attend, and he more or less stole this damn vehicle through sheer laziness, I would put the odds of him making it to court at 0%.
God almightly, Plax. You are seriously one of a kind. Here's hoping you never retire.
