As many of you know, Euro 2008 starts this weekend, and it's obviously a huge deal for everyone who's a soccer fan. And considering the Euro Cup is pretty much the biggest deal in pro soccer outside of the World Cup, passions are obviously running high.
Perhaps too high in certain countries.
Like, oh, let's say Poland. They're in Group B, which also features their longtime
mortal enemy rival Germany. Here's today's headline from the Polish tabloid Super Express, which just sort of goes over the line a bit.
Yes, that's Polish coach Leo Beenhakker holding the heads of German captain Michael Ballack and head coach Joachim Löw.
The headline reads "Leo, Give Us Their Heads!"
Something tells me Poland is still mad about WWII, although that's really just a hunch on my part.
