The Brazil international Hulk has yet to agree on a transfer deal from Chelsea. The 25-year-old forward claims Chelsea and (his present club) Porto have not agreed to any transfer agreement yet.
Chelsea has been linked with a move for the versatile forward as soon as the summer transfer window opened. Chelsea’s Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is willing to break his banks for Hulk, but negotiations for the Brazilian star have failed to reach a conclusion.
Hulk has refused to commit his long-term future to Porto. Hulk has already to media that he desires to compete in the upper echelons of football which can only happen if he plays for a top notch club.
Last season’s Champions League winners Chelsea have made numerous bids on Hulk since the summers began. The transfer rumors about Hulk have decreased in the past few weeks, but that is only because players have started training for the 2012 London Olympics.
Hulk’s agent has been quoted saying that a move to England was on the table but finalizing the deal is proving to be a difficult job. After weeks of silence, Hulk finally shed some light on his transfer saga in an interview to Lancenet.
“There is no deal with Chelsea or any other club,” Hulk said, who just recently signed in a new contract with Porto.
“I have four years left on my contract with Porto and I am focused on the national team. I have not spoken with anyone.”
“As everyone knows, I do not want to get involved in such affairs because that removes your focus. My agent handles such things.”
So, looks like we’ll have to wait for Hulk’s agent for further news on this topic. Nonetheless, one thing is for sure; Hulk’s transfer will not go easy on Porto.
Porto has been trying to keep Hulk under contract. Therefore, they will only be willing to let him go if an irresistible offer comes by.
Meanwhile, other clubs have also grown interest in Hulk. Hulk has been in fine form for club and country for the past couple of years. In the last two seasons Hulk has scored 57 goals and assisted 36 times in 91 games.
