READ MORE:

First, I ask we all type a prayer and give a shout out to all our VETERANS.

They are sons, daughters, moms and dads. Some are young, just starting out their life. Some have family back home, some are all alone. Some will return home, some may be wounded, some will certainly die. They all need our prayers. Please join with us to lift up those who are willing to die to protect the freedoms that you and I enjoy.

Welcome everyone to the Dean's List. Where you ALL can claim your "A", and ADDED to The Dean's List.

This is where I'd like to start up a prayer room and a shout out to all our veterans both past and present, their friends, their families and their loved ones. ~~~Thank You~~~

I can't express it enough, no matter what your position is on this war or any war for that matter or your political position or your thoughts about God, whatever, this isn't the room, place nor time to vent it in. These veterans were asked to do a job, and like it or not they are doing just that. They didn't ask for it and yet they still move on.

***Remember this, some have given us their todays so we can enjoy our freedoms and tomorrows.  They deserve your respect and for that I salute all you veterans.

So please lets keep it civil and keep your thoughts of the way the war is being run and your political thoughts etc. for an other blog, day and time.

Cheers for now.

Have you ever noticed on TV or at military funerals that the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the American flag 13 times? I've known how the 21 gun salute was determined (adding the individual digits of 1776), but only recently learned why the flag was folded 13 times when it is lowered or when it is folded and handed to the widow at the burial of a veteran.

HERE IT IS:

The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life.

The second fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life.

The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing our ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of our country to attain peace throughout the world.

The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.

The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Steven Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong."

The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of theUnited States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and justice for all.

The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic.

The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother's Day.

The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.

The tenth fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born.

The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and Isaac, and Jacob.

The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.

When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding us of our nation's motto, "In God We Trust". After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the sailors and marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for us the rights, privileges, and freedoms we enjoy today. There are some traditions and ways of doing things which have deep meaning. You will see many flags folded in the coming weeks, and now you will know why.

theDean1,

I personally don't think my "prayers" would do much good, for various reasons that I'd rather not sully your blog with, but I'd like to give a big THANK YOU out to all our troops serving across the world. In fact I statred a thread about this in may: http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/messages/chrono/8258081/0/1
I don't think I could say it any better than I did there. Good show Dean, the troops always deserve our gratitude.

NFL-Solomon, You'd be surprised what one person and prayer can do.  I once read something Rhonda White, wrote and says daily.  I'll put it below.  I am typing this for you.  Pass it on to whom ever you wish.  We are all Eagles!

"You are an Eagle, so readjust your Vision today to see the Impossible,

then you will do the Incredible. Know that YOU have the Power on the Hour,

to do Whatever when others say NEVER; so Stop Crying and Start Flying, STOP Complaining

and Start Aiming for this is the Best day of your life!" by Rhonda White

I have 5'd you, I had already added you,

Have a good day and may you soar high.

A friend of mine here on CBS named, Aboy4Christ, helped me by correcting this next post so we could all read it, Thank you again, Aboy4Christ.

DEDICATED TO AMERICAN PRISONERS OF WAR AND MISSING IN ACTION

THE LONELIEST PRAYER

AS I SQUAT HERE IN THIS LONELY PLACE, A MAN MAYBE EVEN YOU FORGOT,

I WONDER,

AM I LIVING IN HELL?

AM I ALIVE OR NOT?

I THINK IT’S MORE THAN TEN YEARS NOW SINCE MY LAST FRIEND LEFT THIS PLACE.

I GUESS HE’S BACK HOME –

WHATEVER THAT IS –

AMONG THE HUMAN RACE.

FORGIVE ME, LORD,

IF I SEEM UNTRUE

TO THE VALUES MY PARENTS TAUGHT,

TO MY THOUGHTS OF YOU,

OF FAMILY AND OF COUNTRY –

THOSE THINGS FOR WHICH I FOUGHT.

BUT, AS I’VE ENDURED THE ENDLESS DAYS

THAT DRAGGED ON INTO YEARS,

I’VE BATTLED WITH ALL MY VERY BEING TO HOLD BACK BITTER TEARS.

MY CHILDREN,

BY NOW, THEY’RE NEARLY GROWN.

MY POOR WIFE – SHE’S HAD THAT TOO;

SHE’S RAISED THEM ALL ALONE.

I’VE WEPT TO HOLD MY DARLINGS,

TO WATCH MY CHILDREN GROW,

TO FEEL YOUR PRESENCE, LORD,

MY FAITH IN YOU TO.

BLESS ME, FATHER, ANDTAKE THIS.

PLEASE LET IT END TODAY.

I WONDER HOW THEY LISTED ME –

POW or  MIA?

By Hardy Abbott

Take care all, I have to get back to work.

God Bless

Cheers for now.

Five other soldiers were killed in the attack.

Lord, protect those who serve in all capacities and give special protection to those who are unaccounted for.  Lord, we pray that all would be returned home safely and that You would speak peace to the families of  those who have lost loved ones or are waiting for word of their whereabouts and condition.  We wait for You to bring peace to our world as only You can do.  Amen

JOINT POW/MIA ACCOUNTING COMMAND (JPAC)
(808) 448-1934

RELEASE NO. #07-13
October 29, 2007

JPAC HOPES TO COLLECT CALLS

HICKAM AFB, HAWAII – The Joint POW/MIA Accounting unveiled another method to connect with those around the world who may have information about missing service members: an international toll-free telephone number.

This new number, 1-866-913-1286, allows those with telephone access to call JPAC, free of charge, and talk to historians and military intelligence analysts about possible leads pertaining to MIA’s. The new method provides another option along with JPAC’s online site reporting form and email accessible through the JPAC website.

All calls will initially be routed to JPAC Public Affairs. This office will then forward calls and messages to the appropriate section of JPAC's Intelligence Directorate (World War II, Korean War, or Vietnam War). Information gathered from private citizens is used by the command to hopefully generate new case leads.

JPAC has linguists on staff for most countries where MIAs are believed to be located who are available to interpret for callers who do not speak English.

JPAC’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting of missing service members from past U.S. conflicts. There are approximately 88,000 unaccounted-for going back to World War II.

Former P.O.W. Colonel Theodore "Ted" Guy, USAF RET
said of this biography program,
"the most comprehensive database available on MIAs."

"Tell me and I'll forget.
Show me, I may not remember.
Involve me, and I'll Understand."

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

My prayers continue to go out to all the men and women serving in our armed forces. They face incredible challenges in attempting to accomplish their mission. Many have already given their lives or have been severely wounded in ways that will not heal. They have paid the ultimate price on behalf of their country and each and every one of us. I am humbled by their service and thank God for their courage and honor. God bless each and every one of them.

Just getting ahead on the 4th of July.  Got this poem sent to me today.  thought I'd share.

NO, FREEDOM ISN'T FREE

I watched the flag
Pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine
Saluted it,
And then he stood at ease..

I looked at
Him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square
And eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men
Like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign
Soil
How many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes
Shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers'
Graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps
One night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler
Play
And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a
Coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the
Children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and
Husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in
Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.

Enjoy Your Freedom & God Bless Our Troops!  Show Your Support!

The link above is to a very moving tribute from the point of view of a mother who raises her son, who wants to be a soldier, and she sees him off to his first day of school, and she later sees him off proudly to his first deployment.  There is a slide show and wonderful song by Sandy Soffi.

This site also has other great tributes to our military, our first responders, 9/11, the VATech shootings, and other significant aspects of American history and freedom.  It is free and well worth a visit.

Veterans Await a Resting Place That Is Truly Final

By Jane Gross

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. — Cindy La Belle made a deathbed promise to her husband, Frank: He would get a soldier’s burial in a veterans cemetery close to the Cherry Mobile Home Park where they lived, so she could visit often and eventually rest beside him. “That was his wish, and I’m prepared to wait however long it takes,” Mrs. La Belle said.

It has been nearly a year, and there is no telling when Frank La Belle’s wish will become reality. The two closest veterans cemeteries are full. The nearest available spot is more than two hours away. And the acquisition of land for a new cemetery here in Bucks County is moving slowly.

So while Mrs. La Belle waits she has turned a sliver of their trailer into Frank’s Room. There his ashes, in a marble box, are surrounded by fishing gear, Philadelphia Eagles paraphernalia, family photographs and medals from Vietnam. The federal government is racing to keep pace with the deaths of America’s warriors. Half of the country’s 124 veterans cemeteries are closed to burials. More than 1,800 veterans die each day, 12 percent choosing a soldier’s burial.

Deaths are expected to peak this year, at 688,000, and continue near that level for a long time, as 9.5 million of the nation’s living veterans are over the age of 65. The Department of Veterans Affairs says it will take at least until 2009 to catch up with demand.

The problem can be traced to a long lull in building cemeteries, between 1940 and 1970. The few built were on sites the government already owned or got free, often far from the veterans who needed them. This was cheaper and easier in the short term than venturing into the private marketplace, but the path chosen by the V.A. merely delayed the inevitable.

With a push from Congress, the department in 1999 began the largest expansion of the national cemetery system since the Civil War. Twelve regions of the country were identified as needing new cemeteries, those with at least 170,000 veterans and no available burial sites within 75 miles — the distance that families said they were willing to travel.

Five of the 12 have been built. But there is pent-up demand: Long-dead soldiers in urns, mausoleums or civilian plots, resting in temporary peace until a new cemetery opens. That can happen in two years under the best of circumstances. More common is a five- or six-year process, which includes Congressional oversight and separate appropriations bills at every step of the way.

When the nation’s newest veterans cemetery opened near Sacramento on Oct. 16, the first to be buried were Alvin Hayman, a second lieutenant in the Marines during the post-World War II occupation of Japan, and his wife, Irene. He had died in 2004, his remains kept in an urn for two years. His wife died in 2000 — about the time that Mr. Hayman, a home builder, decided to sell 550 acres to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her ashes sat for six years waiting for the new cemetery.

The real estate deal that Mr. Hayman embraced took four years to close — just five days before he succumbed to cancer. Jon Hayman, the couple’s 56-year-old son and formerly a partner in his father’s real estate business, said the pace of government bureaucracy was slow. “He had hoped to see the first burial, not be the first burial,” Mr. Hayman said from his home in Los Altos, Calif.

The cemetery in Atlanta, six months after opening, continues to hold delayed burials. The director, Sandy Beckley, said 303 of its first 530 funerals were for veterans who had died as long as three years ago, with 120 still on the calendar. Where burial grounds are at capacity, the department looks for ways to squeeze in more people, sometimes buying adjacent land or building columbaria for cremated remains.

At a Civil War graveyard in Marietta, Ga., which Ms. Beckley also runs, three people killed in the Iraq war have been accommodated by removing a grove of dead trees and using space relinquished by veterans’ spouses who had remarried.

But southeastern Pennsylvania needs more than nooks and crannies. The Philadelphia National Cemetery closed to most burials in 1962 and stopped in-ground cremations last year. Beverly National Cemetery across the river in Burlington, N.J., is also full. There is still room at Indiantown Gap, near Harrisburg, but that is 120 miles from some parts of Bucks County. Even farther is a new cemetery near Pittsburgh.

The preferred site in the region was next to Valley Forge National Historic Park, popular with veterans and politicians but opposed by historians. Once that fell through, the department had to scramble for land.

After years of looking, and heavy pressure from Senator Arlen Specter, the chairman of the Senate Veteran Affairs Committee when the long process began, the department settled on the current site, a vast field of spent corn owned by Toll Brothers, the country’s largest builder of luxury homes. It is appealingly flat, free of contamination and close to the scene of a major Revolutionary War battle.

But the local politics is tricky and Toll is driving a hard bargain. This month, to the V.A.’s delight, three townships that jointly make land use decisions each approved a necessary zoning change. Yet hurdles remain before the government can write Toll Brothers a $7 million check.

Toll Brothers has pared its plan to 170 homes on the 311-acre site. With $41 million for six cemeteries nationwide, the department can afford only 200 of Toll Brothers’ acres. The developer is determined to build the same number of houses, so now the V.A. must expedite a deal for Toll to buy an adjoining parcel.

“We’re caught up in stuff we’re not usually caught up in,” said Bill Tuerk, the under secretary of memorial affairs. “It’s a torturous process.”

At least two women in the county have decided the wait is already too long. Catherine Leckie, another Vietnam-era widow, is one of them. Her late husband, Arthur, a marine, died a year and a half ago of a cancer caused by Agent Orange. Mr. Leckie had been awed, years ago, by his parents’ funeral at Arlington National Cemetery, she said, which was “like seeing a president buried on TV.”

A full veteran’s burial appealed to her, with a 21-gun salute, taps played by a lone bugler and the American flag snapped into a crisp triangle. Indiantown Gap was too far from her home in Ottsville, Pa. So following her husband’s humorous last wishes, lifted from an article called “Going Out With a Bang,” she loaded part of his ashes into shotgun shells that a dozen of his buddies fired over favorite duck blinds or fishing holes. The remaining ashes are stored in an old shotgun shell box beside her bed.

When Mrs. Leckie heard from local Veterans Affairs officials that a cemetery was in the works, she briefly considered a full soldier’s burial for the shell box, thinking her husband would have liked the military pomp. She even discussed it with her mother, herself an Army widow, who lives nearby, also with her husband’s remains at home. After all this time, they decided to leave well enough alone.

“We did what we did when there were no other choices,” Mrs. Leckie said, “and we’re good with that.”

-----------------------------------------------------------------

To all,

If you live in Pennsylvania, please consider contacting your state representatives in Harrisburg and Arlene Specter's office in Congress to push for the completion of the Bucks County veterans' cemetery.  Cindy La Belle is my cousin, and her late husband Frank La Belle served heroically in Vietnam; during a fire in his unit's encampment, Frank pulled 20 other servicemen from the fire to safety.  In the process, he was exposed to not only the fire hazards, but Agent Orange in the river where he pulled people to safety.  When he finally went  into the river after the rescue, he took in enough water to get pneumonia that later turned to lung, skin, and bone cancer. Frank and I shared much information with each other as our illnesses progressed, and I take much of my courage from how Frank trusted God and stayed positive right up to the minute of his death.  He was truly an American hero.

For those of you living in other states that also lack proper veterans' cemeteries, consider action to have land and money appropriated for proper burial of our country's heroes.  Thanks.

God bless our troops!

On a Saturday night several weeks ago, this pastor was working late, and
decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but
his wife didn't answer the phone.
>
>
> The pastor let the phone ring many times. He thought it was odd that she
didn't answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few
minutes. When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she
hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their
house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways.
>
>
> The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office,
which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he
spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night.
>
> The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about. Then
the man said, 'It rang and rang, but I didn't answer.' The pastor
remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that
he'd intended to call his wife.
>
>
> The man said, 'That's, OK. Let me tell you my story.
>
> You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I
did, I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do
this, give me a sign now.' At that point my phone started to ring. I looked
at the caller ID, and it said, 'Almighty God'. I was afraid to
answer!'
>
> The reason why it showed on the man's caller ID that the call came

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

TD1, thanks for your work on behalf of the troops, as a christian and army veteran from the 70's I know that someone praying for you is very comforting.

Dear Heavenly Father, please keep Your hand of protection on our troops whether in harms way or soon to be in harms way.  Father bring them home safe and sound, give them comfort and let them know that You are close by no matter what is happening around them.  Father give them peace in the middle of war.  I pray these things in Jesus' name.  AMEN

I am asking for all your help and support on this blog for our troops, both current and past, active or inactive. Please pass the word we are here and invite them in to help our men and women who are helping us everyday or have already helped us with past service or maybe even their lives so we can better live ours in freedom.

We need to come together as a unit and have our voice heard. With 100's of thousands of folks just here on CBS Sportsline, I know we can do better. If everyone just picked 10 of the people on their friends list we would be so much further ahead and would have touched so many others that don't even have anyone right now. Trust me, to some troops out there, you may be all they have.

You, yes you, the one reading this right now can make a difference and could touch someones heart and lift their spirits just by a kind word, and a attaboy.

We need the help from you troops also, keep us up on what you need to see in here. Pass it on to all your buddies we are here, write your loved ones and let them know about us and then you can come here and read their messages for you also.

I'd like to put a list of prayers on here now that have come from all over, letters, blogs, websites, peoples hearts, etc. I'd like to share them with you all now. Thanks for all your help and support on this mission, together we can do great things.

To all you men and women of the military, these are for you. I hope at least one of these prayers fits everyone. God Bless You All and God Bless America.

Thank you, Lord, for the men and women of our armed forces. Protect them as they protect us. Defend them as they defend us. Encourage and strengthen their spirit, soul, and body in the execution of their duties and responsibilities. May they be mentally and physically strong when required to face the challenges of combat. Undergird them with Your Holy Spirit and might when they are called upon to endure the hardships of battle.
I pray that nothing would take them by surprise, but that they would be aware of all potential aggression. Enable them to curtail hostile actions before they start. Reveal to military leaders the strategies and plots that enemies would wage. Give leaders wisdom and insight in all decisions. May response to any aggression by enemies of this nation be swift, accurate, and effective.
Father, give our military favor with the governmental agencies of this country. I pray that our Congress would appropriate sufficient funds to keep our nation's military preeminent and strong in the world.
Thank You, Lord, for providing America with the best trained, equipped, and lead military force in the world today. Fill them with Your saving grace and the gospel of peace that they may be shining witnesses of Your heavenly love.
Enrich them spiritually that they may cope with life and death situations on the field of battle. When their military brothers and sisters fall in action, give them the strength to continue the good fight. Relieve any feelings of guilt that they may experience if they have to kill another of Your children, in every situation. Help them to realize that they are called to perform at capacity, and unfortunately killing others may sometimes be required of them. Instill in them Your love, showing them mercy and forgiveness when they must break the fifth commandment out of necessity. Whenever possible, guide them to find more humane ways to achieve their goals, keeping the number of casualties at a minimum.
In Jesus' Holy Name, I humbly pray. Amen.

Prayer for time of war or conflict

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of our Lord Jesus, to lift up in prayer this present military action. Father, I pray that there might be a quick resolution to this action, and that the truth and righteousness would prevail. May You guide, bless, and protect all those engaged in this conflict. Heal the physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds that may be inflicted. Let all our soldiers, both home and abroad, turn to You for guidance, courage, and hope. Amen.

Prayer For our Missing In Action (MIA)

Dear Lord, may we find more efficient ways of tracing and identifying those who are missing in action. Let them not be forgotten. Fill them with the hope of freedom and knowledge that their loved ones and comrades anxiously await their safe return. I fervently pray that the truth would come to light quickly so that the living may be rescued, and the families of the deceased may find timely closure. For those whom You have received into the next life, grant them eternal rest, O Lord. Let perpetual Light shine upon them. By Your mercy, may they rest in peace. Amen.

Prayer for our POW's

Father, in the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray for those who have been taken captive in war. Give them courage to persevere and also the knowledge that they have not been forgotten. May our nation find ways to rescue them safely and quickly, so that their suffering is not prolonged. I pray that they will not be used as pawns to the advantage of our enemies. Enter the hearts of their captors, that they may be merciful. Do not let the Evil One control their hearts and minds, tempting them to be cruel and torture their captives. Shine Your Light of Love upon all involved in military prisons. Remind them of Your commandment to love one another, as You love us all. Amen.

Prayer for ALL our Veterans

O Lord, today I thank You for our veterans, for their willingness to risk all so that our nation might dwell in peace and safety. May they find the honor and recognition they truly deserve. I pray that You will heal the physical, spiritual, and psychological wounds some of these veterans have suffered. Bring a lasting peace to those who mourn the loss of comrades. Help them to find Your love and mercy, so that they may cope with the actions they may have had to take while they served our country. Make them realize that the rules of engagement in war do not always follow the laws of Christianity, but give them solace by Your scripture passages that show them that sometimes battle is necessary for the common good. Amen.

Prayer for ALL the Families of our Military

In the Holy Name of Jesus, I lift up to You, Father, the families of our military. I pray that all will feel Your love and mercy while they are concerned for their loved ones who are away serving our great nation. May they know abundance, being well provided for and well taken care of until their loved ones return home safely. Give them the courage of warriors. May the peace that passes understanding sustain them in seasons of separation. Comfort them with Your Word, that they might have faith to see their sons, daughters, husbands, and wives returned to them in wholeness and safety. Amen.

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

While we sit here on a computer, or lap-tap and enjoy the freedom's in which we've come to take for granted, please always remember that freedom comes with a price.

That price is the men and women, family and friends that protect our great land, and fight for us while we enjoy the start of Summer.

Lord Jesus, please continue to watch over these men and women in our armed forces. Keep them from harms way, and bring them back home safely, so that they may continue God's work here in our great land.

Lord, we ask that you watch over each and every one of them, and their units. Give them the strength, courage, and spiritual guidance to go onto the next day and night. Along the way Lord, we ask that you might bless them with your peace, love, and joy...touch them in some manner, and let them know that they are safe, and loved by so many here.

We ask this in the name Lord Jesus Christ,
AMEN

God Bless,
~JTG

Dear God,

This prayer Lord, that I say today
Is for our troops who all must fight.
These are the troops that we all love
And so I pray dear Lord above
Please keep them safe while they’re away
And bring them home to us someday.

This prayer is not for ours alone
But for all military far from home.
I ask You to keep them safe and sound
On their way to where they're bound.
We love them all that are asked to fight
So keep them safe for us today.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts
they perform for us in our time of need.  AMEN.

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

First of all let me say I served in the USMC from 1981-1987. I served with many great paople and i know that our military is filled with great people now and always will be.

God,

Please keep the members of our armed services safe. Let them know of the love that so many have for them. If it be thy will, bring them home safely to us.

Amen.

I apologize for not participating on this blog before this. A series of setbacks have prevented my doing so. I pledge to be active here in the future.

When I was on active duty nothing raised my morale more than knowing that people at home in the country I love supported me. TD1, Thank you for starting this blog. I am mildly irked that I didn't think of it first.

Spirit of America

I am the spirit of hope,
I am the spirit of opportunity,
I am the spirit of humanity,
I am the spirit of independence,
I am the spirit of freedom,
I am the spirit of peace,
I am the spirit of America.
I am not a place,
I am not a people,
I am not a building,
I am not a way of life,
I am all of these and more.
I am an ideal first formulated in the
Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
I am the beacon of hope for the entire Earth.
I am the spirit of America.

Yes, you can destroy my buildings,
But these are only symbols, perhaps even monuments
to the success of a free people living in a free land.
Oh yes, the people will shed tears,
light many candles, and say prayers, hand in hand.
But do not think this a weakness or sign of defeat.
It is a sign of unity, resolve, and faith.
For so long as one person anywhere on this planet
Yearns to be free -- I live on!
I am the hope of the world.
I can not be broken, you can do me no harm.
I am the spirit of America and no evil,
past or future can harm me.
For I am greater than any land, or building or man.
For I am none of these, yet all of these.
The more you try to harm me, the stronger I become.
I am the Spirit of America, a gift from God to Man.

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

Father, we approach You as the Most High God. We declare that You are the Creator of all things. You set the boundaries of the sea, and stretched out the heavens above. When You act Lord, no one can reverse it, and there is no one who can deliver out of Your hand.

We ask Lord that Your mighty hand of protection would be with our troops, that You would surround them with Your favor as a shield. Bless them in the land, and do not surrender them to the desire of their foes.

I pray that Your hand of protection would guard them from mishaps and accidents. Give our soldiers wisdom as they go about their duties, and thwart the plans of the enemy to hurt them. Protect them and preserve their lives.

I ask for discernment in separating innocent civilians from those who would bring death and destruction. Help our troops protect the innocent, and watch over the needy as they protect and restore order and help create a place where justice can reign.

Go before them Lord and be their rear guard. Surround them with songs of deliverance, and keep them from the hands of the enemy.  In Jesus name, amen.

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

"They Need Our Support..."

They are sons, daughters, moms and dads. Some are young, just starting out their life. Some have family back home, some are all alone. Some have a saving relationship with Jesus, some do not. Some will return home, some may be wounded, some will certainly die. They all need our prayers. Please join with us to lift up those who are willing to die to protect the freedoms that you and I enjoy.

Help our troops protect the innocent, and watch over the needy as they protect the Iraqi people and help restore order and a place where justice can reign.

Go before them Lord and be their rear guard. Surround them with songs of deliverance, and keep them from the hands of the enemy. In Jesus name, amen.

-Ps 41:2 The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.

-Ps 27:3 "Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident."

Ps 5:12 "For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield."

-Jer 39:17 "But I will rescue you on that day, declares the LORD; you will not be handed over to those you fear."

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." -Joh 14:27

Soldiers' families

Ps 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.

Jesus, You are the God of all comfort, full of mercy and loving kindness. You are near to the afflicted and those who are feeling down. You understand the deepest longings of our hearts. You are well aware of all of our ways.

I come to You now and ask You to comfort the families of our soldiers. Lord, You see all of their trouble and grief, and You know the sacrifices they are making. I ask that You would fill their hearts with hope, and guard them from anxiety and despair. Bless the children who have a mother or father overseas, be near to the spouses who are now running their households alone and let your Presence fill each gap which is so deeply felt in thousands of homes across our nation.

Lord, You are our strength and shield; when our hearts trust in You, we are helped. As these families turn to You and trust in You, Lord, strengthen and shield them from fear. Cause them to stand firm in their faith and trust their loved ones into Your hands. May Your unfailing love be their comfort as You promised in Your word.

Jesus, You are the Prince of Peace. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and guard their hearts and minds with Your settling Presence.

Be their steady rock in the midst of uncertainty. Be their comfort in the absence of their loved one. I thank You Lord, for Your unfailing love. In Jesus mighty name, Amen!
Ps 27:5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

Ps 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Ps 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Ps 107:19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

Ps 119:76 May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

God' Victory

Ps 33:16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.

Lord, we acknowledge that victory only comes by Your hand, so we bring this conflict before Your throne, and ask You to judge between the righteous and the wicked.

Lord we believe our cause is just, to free the oppressed people of Iraq and disarm a wicked regime. So Father, we ask that you would bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the just secure. Summon Your power Oh God and show us Your strength.

As a God of compassion and mercy, we call on You Lord to come to the aid of the innocent, and under gird our efforts to set them free. Give our soldiers strength and endurance, give our commanders wisdom, and discernment. Move Your sovereign hand, Lord, in our favor, that we might prevail against those who oppress the weak and threaten the just. Our hope is in You Lord. In Jesus name, amen.

Ps 33:16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.

Ps 37:39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

Ps 68:28 Summon your power, O God; show us your strength, O God, as you have done before.

Ps 79:11 May the groans of the prisoners come before you; by the strength of your arm preserve those condemned to die.

Ps 140:7 O Sovereign LORD, my strong deliverer, who shields my head in the day of battle--

2Ch 14:11 Then Asa called to the LORD his God and said, “LORD, there is no-one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. O LORD, you are our God; do not let man prevail against you.”

Ps 94:16-17 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers? Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

Hidden Things Brought to Light

-Ecclesiastes 12:14 "For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil."

-Daniel 2:22 “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him."

-Matthew 10:26 “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known."

-1Timothy 5:25 "Likewise also, deeds that are good are quite evident, and those which are otherwise cannot be concealed."

-Jeremiah 11:18* "Because the LORD revealed their plot to me, I knew it, for at that time he showed me what they were doing."

-Proverbs 11:5-7 "They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, “Who can see them?” They devise injustices, saying, “We are ready with a well-conceived plot”; For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep. But God will shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded."

Lord, even the darkness is light to You, and nothing is hidden from your sight. We ask that you would go before our troops, and bring to light every plan and scheme of the enemy.

Jesus we call on You, and ask You to reveal the secret plans of darkness, so they can be blocked and cause no harm. Lord, please watch over our troops, and pluck their feet out of the traps that are set before them. We especially ask Lord that you would reveal and shut down every plan for violence against our troops.

Let Your favor Lord surround them as a shield and Your light illuminate their way. Dispell the darkness before them and lead them on a clear path to success. In Jesus name, Amen!

-Psalms 140:4 "Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from violent men Who have purposed to trip up my feet."

-Job 28:11 “He dams up the streams from flowing, And what is hidden he brings out to the light."

As we said at the beginning..."They Need Our Support..."

God Bless you all.  Have a great and safe day.

Cheers for now.

Mission Statement:
The purpose of the MIA Project is to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed cremated remains of American veterans through the joint efforts of private, state and federal organizations. To provide honor and respect to those who have served this country by securing a final resting place for these forgotten heroes.

Scope:
The initial focus of the MIA Project will be a massive, nation-wide effort to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed remains of forgotten veterans. This task will be executed through the combined, cooperative efforts of members of the American Legion, other volunteer service and veteran organizations, local Funeral Homes, State Funeral Commissions, State and National Veterans Administration Agencies, and the State and National Veterans Cemetery Administrations. Local, state and national laws must be followed in the identification, claiming process and proper interment of the unclaimed remains of forgotten veterans.

This will be a lengthy project and will require many man-hours to ensure that we have done our utmost to discover every forgotten veteran and procure each a dignified resting place. This will also be a labor of love, a task of redemption, for a debt of service that can never be repaid.

The second phase of the MIA Project will be the creation of a network of individuals working with local Funeral Homes, State, and National Agencies to ensure that, from now on, the cremated remains of any unclaimed veteran will be identified, claimed and interred in a timely manner. This will be an ongoing project and will most likely be a cooperative effort between many voluntary service organizations.

The MIA Project will be a long-term project, but not a time sensitive project.

Missing in America Project

Veteran Recovery Program

You served your country through a war, or through peacetime.  You expected to receive a military burial, recognition by our government of your commitment to our great country.  You expected to have honor and respect paid to you as a result of your service to our great country.  Instead, you reside on a shelf in a mortuary or a storage facility at a crematorium.

The mission of the MIAP project is to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed cremains of veterans through the joint efforts of private, state and federal organizations.   These forgotten veterans have served our country and, as such, deserve to be buried with honor and respect.  The impetus for our fine program began in November 2006.  The Idaho State Veterans cemetery interred 21 cremains of forgotten veterans, with full military honors and the dignity these fallen heroes so richly deserved.  Recently, a state hospital announced that 3500 cremains were on shelves to be identified.  (The link to the newspaper article is:  http://tinyurl.com/2xrx9u.  On the shelf were cremains for the time span of the 1890s to 1971.  It is estimated 1,000 of these cremains are veterans.  This is happening in every state.

This project has just begun.  We need to blanket every mortuary and cemetery in the United States and let them know there are people who desire to claim our veterans.  We need to let them know it is our desire to see they are interred with the honor and respect they deserve.  They served our great nation.  It is now our great nation’s turn to serve them.

The veterans languishing on shelves need us.  They need America to step forward and ensure they are buried with honor.  They need America to show their thanks for their service.  Without them, we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today.

Missing in America Project

Submitted by ducpho on 3 February 2008 - 11:42am. <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

The military burial is how our nation shows gratitude to the men and women who have faithfully defended our country. Yet so many veterans have been forgotten. They can be found on mortuary shelves, in cans or boxes. They were homeless, or without family, or just forgotten by their family and remain unclaimed.

That is until the Missing in America Project (MIAP) came into existence. Our mission is to locate, identify and inter, with honor, every veteran languishing on a mortuary shelf. We have learned there are no laws requiring a coroner or a mortuary to verify whether someone ever served in the military. Until that verification is done, arrangements cannot be made for interment in a national cemetery, with honors. Unless this is done these men and women, who served our great nation, will remain on a dusty shelf.

It is MIAP’s belief the ashes of our veterans, forgotten or ignored by their families, are spread all across this country, from state hospitals to funeral homes. MIAP has spent the last year visiting funeral homes nationwide, asking to be let in to identify these veterans so they can get them properly buried in a national or state cemetery. It's a challenging task, considering not all the nation's 45,000 funeral homes are willingly opening their doors to show what's in their back rooms.

In a year, MIAP has located, identified and interred 101 veterans with honors.
There's much more to do. Thousands of America's war veterans are warehoused in back rooms, dusty basements and closets waiting for a proper burial. It's a monumental effort, but MIAP feels it's the right thing to do and will remain in existence until it is assured every veteran has been located. The latest news is on a Memorial Service at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.

In an interview given to CBS13, Mr. Salanti said "We have veterans that want to be taken care of," he says. "If we want to mouth the words that we're patriots, if we want to mouth the words we want to honor and respect our veterans, then let's do it for all of them. The ones left on the shelf, and the current ones." You can view the interview at

MIAP is in need of volunteers to locate our forgotten veterans, cash donations to keep it operating as it needs funds to pay fees for burial and maintain liability insurance, and for volunteers to educate the public to righting a wrong; namely, ensuring our veterans are buried with honor.

I am speechless.

Psalm 27: 1-3
The Lord is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army geseige me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

May God watch over you and keep you in his care. Thank you for your protection of our troops. Guide and direct their paths in all they do. In Jesus name I pray. AMEN

—Nancy, ID

Heavenly Father please protect and guide the men and women who are so unselfishly serving our country. Please enable those who often misinterpret our intentions to open their hearts to feel your love and hear your word. This can only be accomplished through your goodness and mercy. I truly believe if they can do this our battle is over half won. I also ask that you provide safe passage home for all our soldiers. In Jesus name we pray.

For those who feel hot, tired, afraid, and without hope I pray you will trust in the Lord. 'Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.' Jeremiah 17:7-8. I believe this to be true because I have experienced it. I ask the Lord to be your shield/cover in the midst of battle or unrest, so that you will know the peace that He has in all that seems barren of anything good. He promises to never leave you or forsake you, and thankfully He keeps His promises. There are so many needs, I know the Lord knows them all and I pray that the needs of our troops will be met. The emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs Lord, please meet them all. Lord, you say to those who are weary and heavy-laden to come to you and you will give them rest. That we are to take your yoke upon us and learn from you for you are gentle and humble in heart, and there we shall find rest for our souls for your yoke is easy and your load is light. I lift these men and women, of all ranks, to you now Lord please guide them into the shelter of your everlasting arms so that they may find true peace and rest. I pray these things with confidence because of the precious blood of Jesus being spilled for me and in the truth that Christ died and was raised conquering death.
—Ellie, MN

Dear LORD,

Please dear LORD show them that you are with them and give them peace and comfort. I pray dear LORD for their safe return where they can come home to their loving family and friends. Show them LORD that you are taking care of them and their families. Thank you so much for the priviledge of being able to pray to you on their behalf. Bless them, protect and shield them LORD God. I ask you LORD that when they do return home they will be able to have a blessed and peaceful life. Take care of all their needs, and desires LORD God. I ask this Heavenly Father in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dear God,
It is so easy for those of us who don't have someone close to us in this war to forget that the faces that we see on the news every night are faces of people that are loved by family and friends. Help us Lord to always keep in our minds and hearts the sacrifices that these men and their families make for us everyday. Keep them strong and safe and always in your merciful hands. Lord, please comfort the families and friends of these men and let them feel your presence in the dead of night when they lie awake filled with fear. But most of all Lord, please let our Leaders make the decision to bring our people home.
In Jesus'' name we pray.
—Betty, KY

Father God,
At this crucial time in America''s political history, I ask for your wisdom to be upon the current and future leaders of our nation as they will be the ones making decisions concerning our troops. That they also will be open to your voice and leading of Your Spirit. I pray that all our troops, from the lowest rank to the highest rank in all branches of the armed forces, have the Angels of the Lord camped round about them to keep them safe; that they not allow fear to guide them, but the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Those that do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior, Father touch their hearts to soften and allow your Word to enter in that they would receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and be filled with the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. I pray for all the families of the troops that are waiting at home--that they be filled with a peace that passes all understanding; and they have the wisdom to know how to pray concerning their loved ones and all the troops. And also that the loved ones at home would know Jesus Christ as their Savior, if they do not already know Him, and also be filled with the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit that they may more fully know how to pray. As Your Word says, Dear Lord, ...Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven....' These things I pray in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. AMEN
—Pam, KY

I thank you Lord for these men and women that give so much for our country.Thank you Lord for giving them the bravery to face evil daily and know that your are with them. In Jesus name I give you all the burdens that each of us hold in our hearts. For we know that You will work them out according to Your divine will. I love you Lord and I lift my voice to worship You. Oh my soul rejoices!!! Amen
—Jennifer, SC

Our peaceful sleep is because of you. We pray nightly for you and your families that sacrifice so much also. We believe in you and we believe in your fight. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

I want to thank all of those who wear the uniform and protect our nation. My heart goes out to you and your families, because I know what you have had to sacrifice. I would also like to thank many who may have never wore the uniform of our nations military, but still stood up and continue to stand up as true American patriots today. I served 4 years active duty in the Marine Corps, and part of that time was in Iraq. I believe wholeheartedly in what we are doing over there, and I am thankful there are those willing to put everything on the line to keep our nation a free nation. I would like to thank those who never returned home, and their families- for theirs is the truest sacrifice. God continue to bless this country, and thank You for giving us the ultimate sacrifice, Your one and only Son. For His is above all. Semper Fi

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

This is the Special Forces Prayer. Please remember that the Special Forces motto is "De Oppresso Liber" -- "To Liberate the Oppressed", and to fulfill that task often exacts a heavy toll.

Almighty GOD, Who art the Author of Liberty and the Champion of the Oppressed, hear our prayer.

We, the men of Special Forces, acknowledge our dependence upon Thee in the preservation of human freedom.

Go with us as we seek to defend the defenseless and to free the enslaved.

May we ever remember that our Nation, whose motto is "In God We Trust", expects that we shall acquit ourselves with honor, that we may never bring shame upon our faith, our families, or our fellow men.

Grant us wisdom from Thy mind, courage from Thine heart, strength from Thine arm, and protection by Thine hand.

It is for Thee that we do battle, and to Thee belongs the victor's crown.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever.

                            AMEN

This is an article I saw on CNN Honoring our troops. This Mom, Soldier and Hopi Indian: " She fought and died valiantly.

TD1

By Jeordan Legon
CNN

(CNN) -- A gentle snow swept across Arizona's Painted Desert April 5, the same day the Pentagon announced the death of Pfc. Lori Piestewa.

The soldier, a mother of two believed to be the first American Indian woman ever killed in combat, was the pride of the Hopi Indians living in Tuba City, Arizona. In this tightknit town of 9,000, the unseasonable flurry signified Piestewa's spiritual journey home.

"In the Hopi belief, when one is deceased, they come back home. They visit the family, their community through the moisture," Hopi Tribal Chairman Wayne Taylor told reporters after the snowfall. "And this is what happened just a while ago. So I think we were blessed today."

Piestewa went down fighting in the March 23 ambush of the 507th Army Maintenance Unit near Nasiriya, said Rep. Rick Renzi, R-Arizona, whose district includes Tuba City.

Renzi said he spoke to two generals and a colonel who told him Piestewa was driving the truck that was transporting Pfc. Jessica Lynch and other soldiers. When the Iraqi soldiers attacked her convoy, Piestewa and the master sergeant riding next to her tried to hold the attackers back, Renzi said.

"She fought. She drew her weapon and fought," he said. "It was her last stand. She fought and died valiantly with courage and honor."

Nine soldiers, including Piestewa, died in the battle and Lynch was taken prisoner. When Lynch, Piestewa's friend and roommate at Fort Bliss, was rescued from a Nasiriya hospital April 1, Piestewa's body was among those found nearby by U.S. troops.

Following in the tradition of her father, a Vietnam veteran, and her grandfather, a World War II veteran, Piestewa was commander of her high school ROTC corps. But her marriage her senior year in high school and the births of her two children prompted Piestewa to put her military plans on hold.

Only months after her divorce, she reconsidered her military option and on March 30, 2001, she reported to basic training at Fort Sill.

Her determination shone through in a local television interview before being sent to Iraq: "I am ready to go," she said, looking straight at the camera. "I learned to work with people. It's very important to me to know that my family is going to be taken care of."

Thanks to donations from the public, a scholarship fund has been set up for Piestewa's children. First lady Laura Bush visited the young woman's family. And two Phoenix landmarks, Squaw Peak and Squaw Peak Freeway have been renamed Piestewa Peak and Piestewa Freeway -- a decision hailed by American Indian groups who consider the word "squaw" offensive.

The "Lady Warrior," as her family referred to her, was buried April 12 in the Hopi Reservation, her brother, Wayland Piestewa, told reporters.

"She is our hero," he said. "We are going to continue to believe that. We're going to hold that in our hearts forever. She will not be forgotten."

Note: In every war there are acts of extraordinary courage where an individual, military or civilian, goes beyond what is expected to avert conflict, save lives or otherwise achieve an extraordinary mission. This special section highlights the acts of a few individuals who -- through feats of courage, nobility of purpose or life-risking situations -- have become "Heroes of War."

Cell Phones for Soldiers - Help our Troops Call Home

The Cell Phones for Soldiers program was started in April 2004 by 13-year-old Brittany Bergquist and her 12-year-old brother Robbie of Norwell, Massachusetts.  Robbie and Brittany's goal is to help our soldiers serving overseas call home. They hope to provide as many soldiers as possible with prepaid calling cards. Through generous donations and the recycling of used cell phones, Robbie and Brittany have already distributed thousands of calling cards to soldiers around the globe.

http://www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com/

Send a used cell phone, send a phone card, or donate money.  Also supported by several corporate participants like AT&T, AOL, and ArmyNavyDeals and more--see the site.  Several nonprofits are also supporting the effort.  You can read about these two teens and see videos to promote their concern for our troops and find different ways to help.  You can get prepaid mailers to send in your cell phones.  Great idea, especially for the 4th of July--LET FREEDOM RING!!!

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

This is for all Americans. With July 4th, just around the corner, I thought to myself, what do I really know about the fourth of July? So, I started looking around and came across all kinds of information. I would like to share what I have found in my searches. I hope that this may help you answer some questions you may have or maybe even answer the questions our children come to ask us for school projects, etc.

Please click on the links to Annies page, it is packed with information.

May you all have a safe and Great 4th of July.

God Bless You All & God Bless America.

What does the Bible say about Freedom and Independence?
There are no verses with "Freedom" or "Independence" in them.
What about verses with the word
"free"? There are 58 verses in the KJV.

1 Peter 2:16 "As free, and not using [your] liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God."

Galatians 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

What about the Christians who are being persecuted
and killed for their faith?

As American Christians we take so much for granted. We have freedom of speech. We have freedom to worship. We can attend the Church of our choice. Most of us have more then one Bible in our home. Some of us don't even read the Bible we have.

We as Christians and Americans can't even comprehend what is going on in the world. There is more Persecution of Christians in the world now then there has ever been. Some Christians have been arrested for having Bibles. There is a bill that is being considered in Israel that would also make it possible to arrest a Christian for having any material that would try to convert a Jew to Christianity. Some Christians were recently arrested for attending a Bible study.

There are so many things happening today in Christian news that we just don't hear about on the National or Local news. But rest assured there is much persecution of Christians all over the world.

How would you be able to deal with being in prison for your faith?
Would there be enough evidence to arrest you as a Christian?
Can people "see" your faith?

We are told in the Bible that if Christ suffered we should expect nothing less. The early Christians were in an underground. They had secret codes. Like the Icathus, symbol. (see this page of mine for an explanation)

The New Testament Christians were arrested, imprisoned and even killed for their faith and witness for the Lord.

What if your Bible were confiscated?
Do you know any verses by memory?
Are you willing to DIE for your FAITH?

With so much persecution in the world............we may not experience such freedom for ever.

Can you say the verses below and mean every word from deep within you?

"For the which cause I also suffer these things: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that day." 2 Timothy 1:12

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me an my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

If you are not a Christian..........visit the Campus Crusade "Four Spiritual Laws" site and make your decision today. With all the things happening in the world you can't afford to wait. Nuclear weapons, tornadoes, fires, shootings and more.

If you are a Christian..........you have a choice to make right now.
Are you prepared and ready to die for your faith?
What is holding you back from letting the Lord be the Lord of your life?

"And Jesus said unto him, no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back , is fit for the kingdom of God."

Luke 14: 26-27 & 33 "If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple."

Luke 9:62 "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

Here is what the Bible tells us to do under persecution.........

Flee from.............Mat 10:23 "But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come."
Rejoice in................................Mat 5:12 "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
Be patient under...........1 Cor 4:12 "And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:"
Glorify God in................1 Peter 4:16 "Yet if [any man suffer] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."
Pray during.......Mat 5:44 "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"

"And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father but by Him." Colossians 3:17

"Jesus said If the world hate your, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you ; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me." John 15: 18-21

Comfort yourselves with these words .........
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, 'I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.' So that we may boldly say, 'The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me'."......Hebrews 13:5-6

"I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."
Psalm 121:1(NRSV)

Almighty and gracious God, we commend
to your care and safe keeping all the
men and women that serve in our armed forces,
as they defend our freedoms.
Protect them day by day with Your Devine grace;
encourage them when they are weak
and strengthen them in their times of trials.
When their way becomes dark, as it sometimes will,
let the LIGHT of Your presence shine brightly to
become the LIGHT unto their pathway.
Keep them safe from all hidden dangers, seen and unseen.
Keep them and their loves ones safe from all harm and deadly diseases.
Shield and shelter them under Your loving arms,
and let Your faithful promises be their armor of protection.
This we ask in the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen!

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

On Jeopardy the other night, the final question was How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns ------ All three contestants missed it.

This is really an awesome sight to watch if you've never had the chance....Very fascinating

1. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why?

21 steps. It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute, which is the highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.

2. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin his return walk and why?

21 seconds for the same reason as answer number 1

3. Why are his gloves wet?

His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the rifle

4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time and if not, why not?

He carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb. After his march across the path, he executes an about face and moves the rifle to the outside shoulder.

5. How often are the guards changed?

Guards are changed every thirty minutes, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.

6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?

For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be between 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall and his waist size cannot exceed 30." Other requirements of the Guard: They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot drink any alcohol on or off duty for the rest of their lives. They cannot swear in public for the rest of their lives and cannot disgrace the uniform {fighting} or the tomb in any way. After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only 400 presently worn. The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their lives or give up the wreath pin.

The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to the top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt. There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform. Guards dress for duty in front of a full-length mirror.

The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone, nor watch TV. All off duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery . A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred. Among the notables are: President Taft, Joe E. Lewis {the boxer} and Medal of Honor winner Audie Murphy, {the most decorated soldier of WWII}.

Every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready for guard duty.

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

In 2003 as Hurricane Isabelle was approaching Washington , DC, our US Senate/House took 2 days off with anticipation of the storm. On the ABC evening news, it was reported that because of the dangers from the hurricane, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment. They respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!" Soaked to the skin,
marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a serviceperson. The tomb has been patrolled continuously,
24/7, since 1930.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this. If you have any prayers or comments for our troops, please leave them here and I will post them on my military blog (if you want your name on it please leave it at the end of your comment and if you wish to not have your name added do not add your name or let me know) for our troops to let them know we are thinking of them here at home and are thankful for the jobs they do everyday to protect our freedoms here at home.

Also, please remember, some of these men and women have paid the ultimate price and they gave us their yesterdays so we can have our todays. Help me to let all our troops know they are not forgotten, for some of them, we are all they have.

Thank You and God Bless

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

Hey TD1, I'm hanging in OK, most recent tests were encouraging.  I've been caught up in some detailed Bible study, blogging the FIBA games to see who the last three Olympic basketball teams will be, and I've accumulated some stuff for the other site but haven't gotten over there yet!  Thanks for the "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" post--I forwarded that to my family since they are all military from one branch or another.

Prayers continue for our troops and our veterans and their families.  I thank God for the many groups who are actively supporting them and for the Internet where we can find out how to take our own action as well as pray.  They are in action for us every day, 24/7/365 in some rough environments.  Someone just sent me an email ending with, "If you can read this, thank a teacher.  If you can read this in English, thank a soldier."  We can never do enough to repay what they have done for us.

Over the July 4 weekend, TBN had a special about the survivors of the "Hanoi Hilton" POW camp in Viet Nam.  Their accounts and their faith in God and their creative way to support one another while in the camp were amazing.  It moved me to tears multiple times.  No matter what difficulties I have encountered, it amounts to nothing compared to what some of our military have been through.  May God keep His protective, loving hand on them until they are safely home.

I would also like to add prayers for the peacekeeping forces, especially in Darfur, who are being attacked, injured, and murdered now on a daily basis.  They have finally been given weapons and permission to defend themselves by the UN.  Aid workers are also in great jeopardy.  Please keep those people in your prayers as well.  That unarmed people delivering food and medicine would be brutally attacked is a pitiful commentary on the state of our world.  God go with them as well.

Lord, we pray for those in harm's way for the benefit of the less fortunate.  Your word tells us that caring for the widow and orphan is true religion; please place a hedge of protection around those who are trying to do just that for the glory of Your name.  Open the hearts and minds and eyes of the world's decision makers to establish peace and protection for the weak, the sick, the unprotected, the victims of brutality and to support those efforts to bring about a positive change in the areas where conflict exists.  Teach us to be good stewards of Your resources that all can be cared for and Your creation maintained and our greed and selfishness set aside for the betterment of our world.  Protect the military and first responders and volunteers who risk their own welfare to protect and bring freedom to the less fortunate.  Teach us never to take Your grace or their sacrifices for granted.  Convict our spirits to live out the true religion Your word speaks of in our own neighborhoods and to support Your work around the world.  We are totally dependent upon You and we cry Abba
Father not only for ourselves but for all in need and for those placed in harm's way to serve the least of these.  We pray in Jesus' name,
Amen

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

http://www.navyseals.com/michael-monsoor

A friend of mine pointed out this story to me today and I thought it had to be shared to honor the memory of a real American hero.  Mike A. Monsoor, rest in peace, go with God, and may God bring comfort to your family and friends.

Michael A. Monsoor
Specialty: Navy SEAL
BUD/S Class:  250
SEAL Service:  5 years
Rank:  Petty Officer Second Class
Age: 25
Home: Garden Grove, CA
Assigned: SEAL Team THREE
Died:  September 29, 2006
Operation:  Iraqi Freedom (Iraq)

Medal of Honor:
On March 31, 2008, the United States Department of Defense confirmed that Monsoor would posthumously receive the Medal of Honor from the president of the United States, George W. Bush, for his valiant and selfless actions to save the lives of his SEAL teammates by sacrificing his own, during combat in Ramadi, Iraq on September 29, 2006.

Silver Star:
Received the Silver Star posthumously for previous heroic actions in Iraq on May 9, 2006 when he pulled a wounded teammate to safety while under hostile enemy fire. Monsoor was engaged in a firefight in Ramadi when, according to the military report, "he and another SEAL pulled a team member shot in the leg to safety while bullets pinged off the ground around them."

Other Awards:
Bronze Star
Purple Heart
Combat Action Ribbon

Contributions:
Michael Monsoor was part of a dedicated team fighting the insurgency in Iraq, supporting the U.S. in its efforts to bring peace and stability to that country.  His valorous conduct, exemplary leadership, and extraordinary self-sacrifice for his fellow service members have earned him the highest respect and gratitude of his fellow SEALs, the Navy, and our nation.

 Navy Narrative:
"On 29 September (2006), Monsoor was part of a sniper overwatch security position in eastern Ramadi, Iraq, with three other SEALs and eight Iraqi soldiers. They were providing overwatch security while joint and combined forces were conducting missions in the area. Ramadi had been a violent and intense area for a very strong and aggressive insurgency for some time. All morning long the overwatch position received harassment fire that had become a typical part of the day for the security team.

Around midday, the exterior of the building was struck by a single rocket propelled grenade (RPG), but no injuries to any of the overwatch personnel were sustained. The overwatch couldn’t tell where the RPG came from and didn’t return fire."

"A couple of hours later, an insurgency fighter closed on the overwatch position and threw a fragment grenade into the overwatch position which hit Monsoor in the chest before falling in front of him. Monsoor yelled, "Grenade!" and dropped on top of the grenade prior to it exploding. Monsoor’s body shielded the others from the brunt of the fragmentation blast and two other SEALs were only wounded by the remaining blast."

"One of the key aspects of this incident was the way the overwatch position was structured. There was only one access point for entry or exit and Monsoor was the only  one who could have saved himself from harm. Instead, knowing what the outcome would be, he fell on the grenade to save the others from harm. Monsoor and the two injured were evacuated to the combat outpost battalion aid station where Monsoor died approximately 30 minutes after the incident from injuries sustained by the grenade blast."

Also due to Monsoor’s selfless actions, the fourth man of the SEAL squad who was 10-15 feet from the blast, was unhurt. A 28-year-old Lieutenant, who sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs that day, said the following in crediting Monsoor with saving his life: "He never took his eye off the grenade - his only movement was down toward it. He undoubtedly saved mine and the other SEALs’ lives, and we owe him."

As Kristen Scharnberg of the ChicagoTribune summarized in tribute, "The men who were there that day say they could see the options flicker across Michael Mansoor’s face: save himself or save the men he had long considered brothers. He chose them."

During Mike Monsoor's funeral in San Diego, as his coffin was being moved from the hearse to the grave site at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, SEALs were lined up on both sides of the pallbearers route forming a column of two's, with the coffin moving up the center. As Mike's coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his gold Trident from his uniform, slapped it down embedding the Trident in the wooden coffin. The slaps were audible from across the cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as though it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it. This was a fitting send-off for a warrior hero.

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

Prayer for all the Military wives.

Dear God, I am proud to be wed to one who defends freedom and peace. My challenges are many and I pray for your love and guidance to meet them. Special to me are the symbols representing my religion, country, community, and home. I pray for the wisdom and grace to be true to their meanings. You are the symbol of my religious beliefs and the source of my strength. Because my life is full of change, I cherish the solid and constant spiritual foundation that you provide. Help me Lord, to be an example of your teachings. My national flag represents freedom. Let me never forget, or take for granted, the hope it shows to the world. Bless those who have made sacrifices for freedom.

<!-- As I enter the gateway to a military community, guide me to reach out to others and keep it a wholesome place. May my charity be given without thought of personal rewards. My wedding ring represents eternity and never-ending love. Let me celebrate all of the joys of our togetherness & find comfort in them during times of separation. I pray also that we are spared the ultimate sacrifice of duty to country. My house is a symbol of our family and its unity. It is a place where we share memories of the past and build dreams of the future. Make willing my heart and hands to do even the smallest tasks that will make our house a better home. Thank you, God, for being with us as we live in the Air Force.--> Please grant us your continued blessings, increased strength and infinite guidance, as we live to your honor and glory. Amen.

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

It’s dark. I can’t move. My whole body is paralyzed. Lying flat on my back, the ceiling fan spins with a hypnotizing whooping sound as I stare motionless through a dark bed room. I’m trying to scream but I don’t make any noise. I try to nudge my wife lying next to me so that maybe she can wake me up. I’m in a trance, still asleep, but my eyes are wide open.   Far away I’m lying in a bunk in large warehouse type building. Outside the building there lies a wall, outside the wall a huge explosion rocks the warehouse and the very earth we walk on.   MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS SHIT!   I’ve seen enough, I don’t want to see anymore! I don’t want to think of them any more, their faces, the frightened ones. All they wanted to be was safe.   I’m awake now. She woke me up, “are you OK”, she asks.   “I’m OK” as I roll over to go back to sleep, but I don’t really. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS and those who came home with which the war still rages within.

ADOPT OUR TROOPS "CONFIDENTIAL"

They may not be her children. She only interacts with most of them for nine months at a time, sometimes less.

But when they go, the separation - and caring - she feels is downright parental. And it draws her to her knees in prayer.

Valerie Stone has been a high school biology and science teacher for over 16 years in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, WI. In that time, she's seen over 100 of her students go on to serve in the military in some capacity. In recent years, they've been deployed into more dangerous conditions in the war on terror.

"Many are in Iraq today," Valerie said. "It's caused me to become more focused in praying for them, asking for God's presence and direction."

Valerie joined the Adopt Our Troops in Prayer effort as a way to facilitate that prayer, choosing a young man named Jerry from our adoption files for regular intercession. "Praying for Jerry and other military members causes you to reach outside of yourself, makes you look outward and touch the lives of others. It makes a larger world smaller. I feel I'm making a big difference through the Lord."

Join Valerie for a moment in helping make that difference through this impassioned prayer she posted on our website for Jerry and his unit:

Lord, I lift up JERRY and all the guys in his National Guard Unit. Lord, I ask You to help this unit be encouraged. Put a hedge of protection around each one of their minds. Help them clearly understand the directions of their officers - keeping them all safe. Hold each one of them and every officer in Your hands, pouring Your life into them. Renew them all with freshness of life in You.

Father, I ask You to stir up boldness in this unit to talk to one another. Let each one of them know how much You love them, and how You protect them. Let there not be any question of Your hand behind it - and nothing of what the culture, coincidence or luck might say. Father, I pray for their hearts to be open to know this. Strike up renewed hunger within this unit causing revival in a mighty way that helps them draw in tighter as a unit of one. In Jesus name - that name above all - AMEN.

"Usually, I pray for unity within the unit and the team, which I feel I understand the importance of because of my work in the classroom," Valerie said. "I ask the Lord to help them follow directions in a way that will keep them protected and safe."

Another man or woman like Jerry is waiting to be prayed for right now. Simply register or adopt a troop today. They may not be your children, but you can, like Valerie, pray for them as a parent would, full of constant caring and concern.

We can all give KIR credit for this one.

Live Fire

The Medevac Helicopter banked sharply over a chaotic scene being played out on the road below. The charred and twisted hulk of what had been an armored Humvee lay smoldering, surrounded by a circle of debris thrown up by the blast that destroyed it. Soldiers crouched alongside the road, scanning the surrounding hillsides for the Taliban snipers which had opened fire on them after the IED detonated.

My stomach lurched into my throat as the Black Hawk dropped quickly toward a wisp of purple marker smoke, then was enveloped in a brownout of swirling dust. We were a big, tempting target for the remaining enemy fighters we'd been warned were still in the area. This was a hot Landing Zone. Our chase bird continued circling overhead, its twin door gunners watching over us, looking for something to kill.

Out of the swirling dust, two figures appeared, supporting a third man between them - his head wrapped in so much gauze that there was no worry about my camera capturing his face. The wounded man stumbled, in obvious pain, and cried out when his comrades tried to lift him through the open door of the bird. They propped him up in the seat next to me, and I dropped my camera to help get him buckled in. I shouted over the whine of the rotors, "Hang in there buddy!" Forgetting for a moment that I was supposed to be just a spectator to this event. The wounded young man was covered in blood - some of it dripped on my shoes as I fumbled with the safety harness. He looked to be in his early twenties.

But there were more wounded men, and they were worse than this one. The next man they carried aboard was sprawled out on a stretcher - most of his clothing had been cut away so the medics could render first aid. He was conscious - barely. One of his buddies who had carried the stretcher saw my cameras and gave me a gesture of disgust. "You like taking pictures of dead people?" He shouted, anger and frustration crystal clear in his strained voice.

I shook my head and shouted back, "I'm on your side, buddy." But after having just seen his friends mangled by an unseen, cowardly foe, it was clear the man wasn't buying it, and I was an easy target for his frustration. He repeated the "gesture" and walked away. I couldn't hold it against him - journalists have a well-deserved stigma in this environment. But I didn't cause this tragedy, and there wasn't time for a philosophical discussion about the need to win the war in the media as well as on the ground.

The next stretcher that came aboard carried a dead man. Except for the blood, the dirt, and the bandages wrapped around his head by a frantic medic who tried hard to save his life, the man appeared to be taking a nap - at peace in the midst of so much chaos.

I put my camera away. There would be no honor in filming him. I stared at his hands, crossed over his abdomen - and at the wedding ring he wore. Some poor woman's life would never be the same after today. Did he have kids?

The crew chief's spoke through his microphone to the pilots. "We've got one more hero. They're putting him on Chalk two." That was the second medevac that had landed just behind us.

A moment later, the aircraft picked up and again shrouded the destruction below in swirling dust, leaving the soldiers not injured by the blast to pick up the pieces of a very bad day.

The two flight surgeons on board were working feverishly over the two wounded men, and stepping carefully around the dead. They started IV's, monitored vital signs, and administered oxygen during the short flight back to Bagram airfield. As soon as we touched down at the hospital, a crew of medical personnel rushed to the aircraft and whisked away the injured warriors. Then the door was closed and the Black Hawk taxied a long way to the other side of the airfield - just me and the dead man riding in the back. There, another group was waiting to take possession of the body, to prepare this fallen soldier for his final flight home. They covered him with a blanket, and then, as they wheeled him away, all the soldiers standing around snapped to attention and saluted.

They called him a hero. And rightly so. Not because of how he died, but because of how he lived.

War is such an ugly thing - especially this kind of war where the enemy "fights" by visiting random, senseless death on civilian and military alike. But it's exactly these cowardly tactics that will ensure the Taliban's defeat here in Afghanistan, just as the brutality brought by Al Qaeda lost them Iraq.

When we returned to the hangar after the mission, I sat down with one of the pilots who had flown the mission. He sighed, took a swig of water, then said, "When do you suppose America will remember we're at war?"

His meaning was clear. Most of America is much more concerned with who won Olympic gold than with what's happening in Afghanistan. And while many of our countrymen can name any number of contestants on "American Idol," precious few can name one hero from this war. It's what frustrates our military men and women most - that in large part America is either ambivalent or oblivious.

I came to Afghanistan to find some slivers of hope in a dry and dusty place. And hope is here - from the Marines in Helmand province to the south, who are enduring deplorable conditions and brutal heat to build security in a lawless place, to the Panjshir valley where our troops are delivering electricity and education to places that have never had them before. But today's mission was a painful reminder that this progress comes at a very high price.

The Bible commands us not to grow weary in doing good. If the dead could speak, I believe they'd agree. saying, "don't let our sacrifices amount to nothing." We can honor our fallen by finishing the fight.and by never forgetting what these heroes stood for.

TD1, how are you doing, I haven't been posting for a while.  I hope you are doing well and God bless you.

AMEN

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

Dear Lord I pray for the safe return of our brave soldiers who are standing in the breach, so I, and others like me can walk freely in our day to day walk with you. No greater gift can be given, than one's life so WE can be free from the terrorism so many want to befall us.

Pray & SHOUT out to all Veterans, 5'd & Added

http://www.presidentialprayerteam.net/aot/adopt.php

Marine mom Luanne Alderden calls it "a different side of evil."

Something that has surprised her, but also built her faith in the Lord, as she's prayed through Adopt Our Troops.

She discovered it after her son Jim was deployed to Iraq this February for his first tour as a U.S. Marine. "I used to think of evil in this war as just being al-Qaida. But I've learned that my prayer isn't only to keep them safe from terrorists, but it's also to protect them from the enemy of our souls. So I've been praying for their souls - not only for my son, that he stays strong, but for those of the men around him, too."

By having a member of her family in the military, Luanne has discovered that some of our Troops have had to deal with issues of divorce, break-ups, and financial crisis while being alert 24/7 serving our country in Iraq. She also discovered that there is a period of adjustment that occurs after the Troops come home. "Many times we stop praying for our Troops once they come back to the United States, but there is also prayer needed for them as they reacclimatize after their deployment," She said. "There are just so many issues to work through when they come home that I had no clue about. That has really opened the eyes of my understanding."

And as her eyes have been opened, God has called upon her more often to pray. He's given her reminders throughout each day to intercede, what she describes as "an unction that maybe something was going on that He wanted me to pray about at that time." As she's responded to His leading, the Lord has encouraged her. "Just to know that He knows what's going on, even when I don't, is a reminder that nothing is in my hands. It's all in God's hands, and He has control. It's made me more in awe of the Lord and of His power and goodness. In the end, God is there, and He knows what's best. I find peace in knowing that."

Her son Jim is scheduled to be home for the Christmas holidays, and although she has two other adult children and two high school students that she is home schooling, Luanne makes sure she's not too occupied to take time to pray.

"We sometimes get so busy 'doing,' taking that time to pray for somebody can be overlooked," she admits. "But I've learned that praying for our troops and this war on terror is like the air strikes going in before the ground troops arrive. Prayer is so necessary to battle the spiritual war for the souls of our military. Adopt Our Troops has helped me to be able to prioritize daily prayer for my son and so many others. It's let me fight this war, with my son, through prayer."

You can join Luanne is this holy fight. Just go now and either register or adopt a troop - or, if you have registered a troop for prayer through Adopt Our Troops, please go online this week and provide an update on their status. It is only through the updates provided by family and friends of the registered Troop that others will be able to intercede in an informed way for the Troops enrolled in Adopt Our Troops.

The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

Psalms 27: 1-3

My Father is a Veitnam Vet so I have every respect for our guys that put thier lives on the line to protect us from the enemy.  God Bless all young and Old that give their lives for us to be Free. We may not like how our Government has handled any WAR, But the Important thing is We get the job done and bring as many of our people home safe and sound.
and Remember, War changes everything Even People.GOD BLESS our Troops.
