It's a frightening thought, but Tiger is bigger, stronger and more focused. All of which combine to create an even larger gap between himself and the rest of the tour as evidenced by his lapping of the field at the Buick Open.
Hardly a bold prediction, but I'll join Nick Faldo and the scores of fans who watched his performance this weekend in calling this the year for Woods to sweep golf's four major events. Adding to that achievement he'll also take home the most victories in tour history during a calendar year.
We can already hand him one major, the US Open, which will be played on the same course. This was Tiger's fourth straight win on Torrey Pines with very little competition in doing so.
Augusta? Shouldn't be a problem. If he keeps up this early precision, he'll win the green jacket on the first tee. Here's the scariest observation from this weekend, besides Woods appearing even more ripped. He didn't play THAT well. He drove the ball poorly for his standards and still finished 19-under with an 8-shot win.
The British Open may be the only slam up for grabs. Played at Royal Birksdale, Woods finished a horrible 3rd place the last go round on these links.
So just like every other year, the only drama that remains is just how many times and by how much Tiger wins. It's the Tiger Tour.
