I'm just wondering if there anyone out there who had premonitions, dreams or feelings that the Carolina Hurricanes would win the Stanley Cup in 2006?
Reason I ask, I did, and this was not the first time that something like that has happened to me.
First off, I'm a HUGE NC State Football fan. In my personal world of sports the biggest sports event of the year is not the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500 or the World Series...its the NC State vs. Carolina football game. I think about it all year, every year. Basically, the winner gets bragging rights for a year.
That being said, in 2003, in the week leading up to the BIG GAME
, I came down with pneumonia. Due to doctors orders I was not allowed to go back to work until at least the Monday after the game. And you know that I wasnt complaining.
I had ALL week to think about the game. The Wednesday night before that Saturday's game I had a dream where I saw the final score. The final score in my dream was 48-0. Now, I knew for a fact with NC States sub-par defense that year, there was no way that Carolina wouldnt score. Both defenses sucked that year; I knew it would be an offensive shootout.
I had another dream that same night where I saw the final score as being 48-21, which I though might be more possible.
In the actual game itself, that Saturday, had the NC State kicker not missed an extra point early in the 3rd quarter, my dream would have been right on the money as far as NC States offensive output. The actual final score was 47-34.
ALL THAT BEING SAID
2006 Stanley Cup Finals
Carolina Hurricanes vs. Edmonton Oilers
The Carolina Hurricanes lose game 6 in Edmonton, creating a Game 7 on Monday, June 19th.
The Sunday night before the game, I could not sleep. I kept waking up, going to sleep, waking up again and again. I had a hard time sleeping knowing that game 7 was less than 24 hours away. Thats all I could think about. That night, I had two very interesting dreams.
DREAM 1: In this dream I woke up and it was already Tuesday, the morning after the game. The Carolina Hurricanes had won the Stanley Cup. In the dream, which was visually very weird, I saw a victory parade on Hillsborough Street.
DREAM 2: This is the more interesting of the two. I have three witnesses that can verify that I told them of this dream before the game. In the dream, I saw the last few moments of Game 7, and I saw the final score.
In the ACTUAL Game 7, had Justin Williams not scored the empty-net goal with 1:01 to go in the game, I WOULD HAVE BEEN RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!!
In my dream I saw the final score as 2-1, with Williams empty-net goal the actual final score became 3-1.
How about them apples???
You know, it might be awesome if I started having dreams about Powerball Lottery numbers...
