Purdue Dismisses CB Following Arrest

Purdue coach Danny Hope has dismissed cornerback Sean Collins from the team following his arrest this weekend, reports John Taylor of PFT. The 21-year-old was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery.

Collins, who had been initially suspended, was kicked off the team Tuesday after Hope had given it more thought while understanding the serious allegations.

Collins allegedly hit a 22-year-old woman, who was treated and released at a local hospital. He was later released on a $10,000 bond.

The junior made the team as a walk-on in 2009, but had not seen significant playing time as a member on the roster. Hope said he would re-evaluate the situation if the charges change.
