For the life of me, I will never understand why the Miami Dolphins didn't draft a QB with the #1 pick in this year's draft. Maybe Parcells thought Matt Ryan sucked or something, I don't know. But the consensus was: Good God, do the Dolphins ever need a QB.Well, fear not Dolphins fans. No longer will you have to be subjected to Chad Henne, John Beck and whoever the other guy is.
That's because your white knight is coming to town on Friday in the form of Quincy Carter!
Yes, this would be the same Quincy Carter who failed with the Cowboys, the Jets, the CFL, and the Arena Football 2 league. Yes, that's the AF2 league, meaning the minor leagues of Arena Football. About the only other league he could possibly fail in now is the local YMCA league.
And yes, he failed in all of those leagues because of drug problems.
But that hasn't deterred Carter. Why? Well, because Miami already has a huge drug user on their team.
“I see Ricky Williams playing again,” Carter told the Palm Beach Post before he checked into a South Florida rehab facility in December. “I only failed one test. Ricky failed about five or six.”Brilliant logic, Quincy. I'm sure Parcells is pleased as punch. But then again, Parcells has to be letting this happen. He did coach Carter on the Cowboys, however Tuna also released Carter right before the beginning of the 2004 season because Carter "could not be trusted with the leadership of the team." So, uh, I'm not exactly sure what happened to Tuna's brain. Perhaps he has selective memory.
By the way, I didn't think it'd be possible for the Dolphins to get any worse than the 1-15 abomination that they threw onto the field last year. But I think they already are, if that's even possible.
My only guess is Parcells is on a mission to get #1 draft picks for the next 4 years. Which is always a solid plan. I'm sure the fanbase will love that.
