DCPSR Dialogue: By now, you have heard about the message board perceived threat made against Alexander Ovechkin on a Pittsburgh Penguin fan forum. The threat was apparently made after the game on Monday by a 17 year old from Chambersburg, PA. That's the town I was born and raised in, and a town I live literally 10 to 15 minutes from. Don't likely know the kid, maybe someone in his family, who knows, but really it doesn't matter.
As a parent of two kids being raised in this high tech, internet based Era, this is something that is really not surprising. The Internet is not the same it was, say, 15 years ago. Everything can be found by search engines, search spiders, etc . . . Blogs are no longer private, even if meant to be between you and your friends. Forum threads are tagged, have topic words, and forums are searchable by Internet portals and spiders. Try it. Think of a subject. Type in for instance "NFL mocks" and see how many search results come up with forum threads. Tons of forum threads, I know, because we search.
