FanIQ | Sports Rumors, Gossip, Blogs, News & Discussion ForumsThe NFL 2013 season so far has been unmerciful to many players, ending their seasons even before the regular season began or doling out season ending injuries to those who made it through. So far, many teams have been afflicted by this curse and have been reduced to risking their reputation by playing backups instead of franchise players.

Quarterback for Oakland Raiders, Terrelle Pryor had a field day against Denver but they lost anyways and he left the stadium suffering from a concussion. Initial reports are inconclusive whether he will sit out the entire season as Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb is doing or will return but the injury is speculated not to be that severe.

Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy and Tight end Jermichael Finley, Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather, San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid, Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, San Diego Chargers right tackle D.J. Fluker, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Bradley Fletcher, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Michael Johnson and Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Thomas are the unlucky bunch who have had concussions so far.

Until recently a total of 22 players have been counted who are suffering from ankle related injuries. The latest to the addition are Falcons Roddy White, Steelers Cortez Allen, Chiefs Anthony Fasano, Redskins Fred Davis, Colts LaRon Landry and Jaguars Maurice Jones-Drew.

Jeremy Maclin is suffereing from a torn ACL sustained during training camp. Others who accompany him for the injury are Chargers wide receiver Danario Alexander, Colts defensive tackle Brandon McKinney, Giants free safety Stevie Brown Packers left tackle Bryan Bulaga, Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller and Broncos center Dan Koppen.

Hamstring injury varies. It can lead to missing quite a few games or may be minor, allowing the player to perform but at a reduced level.

Running backs for Pittsburgh Steelers Le’Veon Bell and Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o have yet to star in the season. Both are ailing from foot related injuries. Left tackle for Denver Broncos Ryan Clady is out of the season owing to a Lisfranc injury in his left foot. Safety for Buffalo Bills Jairus Byrd has not played in the starting three games owing to a foot injury. Arizona Cardinals Lorenzo Alexander, who plays linebacker, will not be coming back for a year because of a right foot torn ligament. Falcons Sean Weatherspoon is predicted to miss two games because of a foot related problem.
