Rajon Rondo: This Is My Team
Just a few years ago, the name that was always circulating around the rumorville was Rajon Rondo. Today, he finds himself as the only Boston Celtic left from their championship days. And with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnettt now in Brooklyn, Rondo now the clear-cut captain of the Boston Celtics; a title that he has not shied away from.
“I love it here," Rondo said. "The fans are great here. And Danny [Ainge] has been straightforward with me. This is my team. Why would I want to leave? Why would I want out? I never really backed away from a challenge. This would be a challenge. I’m looking forward to working with coach [Brad] Stevens. It’s a brand new start for us as a team. A lot of new players and a lot of young guys willing to listen, so I’m very excited.”
Rondo has made it clear that this will not be a tanking season for the Celtics, however, with his return date still up in the air, and a plethora of new and young players, Rondo will have his hands full as the captain of this team. But if there is one strength that Rondo has, it’s will power and stubborn unwillingness to ever give up.
