Roy Jones Jr. Favored in Boxing Match versus Rampage Jackson
Former UFC champion 'Rampage' Jackson is expected to fight Roy Jones Jr.
A rumor has leaked over the last few days that Bellator—a mixed martial arts organization—is expected to announce a boxing matchup between Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Roy Jones Jr. The match is expected to take place on pay-per-view later this year.
The Covers sports betting site recently spoke with an MMA oddsmaker who said Jones Jr. would be a 3 to 1 favorite over Jackson in the proposed boxing matchup. Both fighters are at the end of their careers and the matchup—as intriguing as it sounds—is more of a publicity stunt than an actual athletic competition. Rampage has lost three fights in a row, and even though Jones Jr. is far from his championship days, should be able to box circles around the former UFC champion.
However, the oddsmaker did mention to Covers that if the roles were reversed and Roy Jones Jr. stepped foot into an MMA cage, he would probably be a massive 10-1 underdog.
