Will Ray Allen hear boos or applause when he comes back to Boston in a Heat uniform?
Allen turned down a 2-year $12M contract from the Celtics in favor of a deal with Miami that is rumored to be in the area of 3 years and $9M.
The Celtics had more money to offer, but Allen was looking for a 3-year deal with the Celtics in the area of $27M.
Reports indicate that Allen had problems with Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, which may have been a major factor in his departure.
Celtics fans are already torn on how to react to this one.
On one hand, Ray Allen went to their bitter rivals, and the team most likely to stand in the Celtics' way as they pursue a championship.
On the other hand, Allen has been the epitome of class during his time with the Celtics, and he was one of the keys to their championship in 2008.
As for me, I'll gladly cheer Ray Allen. He's a consummate professional, and he deserves the chance to go to Miami and pursue another championship.
