Real Madrid players want Jose Mourinho to leave the club this summer
As much as 15 players from the Real Madrid squad, which includes five senior players from the team, have voted against Jose Mourinho continuing to manage the club beyond this season a Spanish newspaper by the name of El Pais reported on Saturday.
Jose Mourinho has binding contract with Real Madrid, which will end in the summer of 2016. However, the former Inter Milan boss has been linked with an away move since last season.
Rife rumors suggest the Portuguese will pull the trigger this summer, although it still not clear what his new venue will be. Jose Mourinho could return to Chelsea, but the London club still hasn’t stepped forward with any clear policy making.
In an interview on Friday, Jose Mourinho admitted that the likelihood of him remaining at Santiago Bernabeu for another season was quite unlikely. Jose Mourinho admits he “didn't think he would be here next season” to the president of CD Canillas, a football club where Jose Mourinho’s son plays.
In spite of his exit rumors, Jose Mourinho claims his relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is healthy one. The Portuguese manager also insists that he will decide about his future at the end of the season.
“My relationship with the president and Jose Angel Sanchez (the sporting director) is very good,” Jose Mourinho said. “This allows us to sit down and analyse things calmly whatever happens in the games.”
Meanwhile, a report in El Pais claims Florentino Perez orchestrated an unofficial poll to see whether Real Madrid players were in favor of Jose Mourinho staying at the club for another season.
The results of reported poll are quite shocking, as the majority of players at Real Madrid would like to see Jose Mourinho leave the club. Shockingly, five senior players from the poll informed they had received transfer offers from clubs which they could use if Jose Mourinho remains at the club.
Jose Mourinho has had quite a number of public disagreements with senior Real Madrid players since his arrival at the club in 2010. The list of players includes Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos. On the other hand, Xabi Alonso has refused to extend his contract with Real Madrid, which means he could leave the club as a free agent in 2014.
