Shocking news from Spain reveals Real Madrid’s interest in Manchester United’s star striker Javier Hernandez. Media reports suggest Manchester United’s motive behind the transfer is to pry a starter from Real Madrid’s squad.
In the light of this revelation, a player-swap deal could occur between Real Madrid and Manchester United. The Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson has used Javier Hernandez sparingly this season following the arrival of Arsenal ace Robin van Persie.
Javier Hernandez had another slow start to the season, but now the striker is being overshadowed on the bench. The 24-year-old is finding limited first-team opportunities with Manchester United, due to Sir Alex Ferguson’s long list of strikers.
Javier Hernandez scored 20 goals in 45 games in his debut season for Manchester United. Last season, Javier Hernandez scored only 12 goals in 36 appearances. The young Mexican was used as a substitute by Sir Alex Ferguson last season, but this season Javier Hernandez isn’t even making off-the-bench appearances. So far, Javier Hernandez appeared in four games and produced a single goal.
With Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie set to feature in Manchester United’s first team and Danny Welbeck labelled a favorite to start off the bench; Javier Hernandez has little chance of playing in top notch tournaments for Manchester United.
The fundamental reason behind Javier Hernandez being overshadowed in the Manchester United squad is Danny Welbeck. Soon after Danny Welbeck broke into Manchester United’s first team, Sir Alex Ferguson was so impressed by him that the youngster soon became a regular in Manchester United’s first team.
Sir Alex Ferguson loves to feature utility players in his squad. In contrast to Javier Hernandez’s upfront playing style, Danny Welbeck has the ability to play on both wings. Quintessentially, Danny Welbeck is a much more versatile player than Javier Hernandez and that’s why he often gets Sir Alex Ferguson’s nod.
Sir Alex Ferguson would attempt to buff up Manchester United’s talent pool by offering Real Madrid a swap deal for Javier Hernandez. Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho already has a player similar to Javier Hernandez’s playing style in his squad, Karim Benzema.
However, Javier Hernandez would compliment well with Real Madrid’s playing style and would provide as a good backup. Although, Javier Hernandez signed a lucrative five-year deal with Manchester United just last season, the Mexican would not want to miss out on an opportunity to play for Real Madrid.
