Red Sox fans can hate Kevin Youkilis after signing with the Yankees

Ah, I can finally hate Kevin Youkilis, like I've always wanted to

It probably sounds ridiculous that a Red Sox fan would hate Kevin Youkilis. He was part of two World Series winning teams, he played 6 full seasons with the team, and was consistently good for 20 HR and 90 RBI.

He also played Gold Glove caliber defense at either 1st base or 3rd base, wherever he was needed.

He even played the outfield when he was asked to. He played hard, too. Almost too hard, which led to him breaking down a little earlier than expected. But when he was on the field, he played his heart out and did whatever it took to help the team.

On top of that, he was a damn good player, too. Yet I still never liked him all that much.

Maybe it was the ridiculous batting stance, where he would hold the bat over his head and point it at the pitcher, oddly rotating his hips as he barely even held the bat with his top hand.

Maybe it was the way he openly questioned Jacoby Ellsbury, a noticeably superior played, when Ellsbury was rehabbing an injury.

Maybe it's his enormous Leno-esque chin that he tries to keep not-so-subtly hidden under an equally ridiculous goatee.

Maybe it was his generally surly attitude towards the media.

No matter what it was, I was never totally sold on Youkilis. Based on his performance on the field and his willingness to do whatever the team wanted, he should have been one of my favorite players of all time. But he always took a backseat to guys like Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz, and even clowns like Manny Ramirez.

Now, with Youkilis signing with the Yankees, I can finally hate him like I've always secretly wanted to.

I can revel every time he gets hit by a pitch. I can ridicule his batting stance, and criticize his high school and college hitting coaches, who should have fixed him when they had the chance. I can chuckle at his baldness. I can even tell jokes about his enormous chin, since the Yankees' clean-cut policy will force him to leave it out in the open for all to see.

Finally, I can hate Kevin Youkilis. And I've never been happier.

Youkilis is a clubhouse lawyer. Jeter will put him in his place sooner rather than later. Hopefully before Youk takes him to task for his 35 pound (or so) weight gain. Hah.....

Well, You know what I'm NOT Suprised!  But all Red Sox fans have been there, haven't we?
Maybe since I've been around the 'grand ol game', nothing suprises me anymore!
So he's a 'traitor'? Big Deal..........Youk is just another former Red Sox fanfavorite to join forces w/the enemy along w/ Sparky Lyle,Looie Tiant,George Scott,Roger Clemens,Johnny Damon.. and many more.

I really was appreciative of Kevin Youkilis time in a Red Sox uniform,he really excelled in the post season when it was all or nothing! Good Luck, Youk.

You rock, Dr. Quincy !!!

I loathe Youk with a passion, and that will not change wearing the Yankees uniform. I guess we finally agree on something. In fact, as callous as this may sound, I used to enjoy every time Joba hit Youk in the head. As an initiation process, Joba should hit him one more time.

I guess next Girardi is going to talk Jason Varitek into joining his staff, and Mike Piazza is going to invite Roger Clemons over for christmas dinner right?  Wonder if Don Zimmer is spending any of his retirement hanging out with Pedro Martinez?  Doubt it.  Now we will send Joba to the Red Sox so we can both see things from the other side.
