For the first DC Pro Sports Report Redskins Round Table, we asked our panel of local reporters, writers and bloggers whether or not the Washington Redskins should fire Jim Zorn now or wait until the end of the season. Their responses follow.
I believe he should be fired, if not ASAP, then during the bye week. Is he solely, or even mostly responsible for the current fiasco? Absolutely not. But without any sort of mandate from above, this season could spiral into a complete nightmare. Players can sense what's happening here, and something dramatic needs to be done to prevent this ship from drifting out to sea. I felt the same way about Manny Acta, and while firing him didn't turn the Nats into a contender, they at least ceased to be an embarrassment. Finally, Zorn's game management has been so ghastly, that he doesn't really have much of an argument in favor of staying.
