6 years later, Reggie Bush might finally be living up to the hype
He didn't end up living up to his potential in New Orleans, and they let him go after the 2010 season. Last year in Miami, he finally rushed for 1000 yards for the first time in his career.
This year, he said he wanted to be the leading rusher in the NFL.
After only 2 games, he might actually be on his way to accomplishing that goal. He trails only C.J. Spiller, with 241 rushing yards to Spiller's 292. He also has 2 touchdowns so far, which puts him far ahead of his pace in even his best year with the Saints.
Could it be that Bush will finally live up to the massive hype that followed him after an incredible college career at USC?
If the Dolphins are able to maximize Bush's potential, they might not be a terrible team. Despite the fact that they have an unseasoned QB, mediocre WRs and a shaky offensive line, Bush has the ability to make huge plays on a consistent basis.
We may not have seen him at his explosive best since his college days, but he's still the same player he was back at USC, when he single handedly carried the USC offense to victories.
He's elusive, he's fast, and he can catch the ball out of the backfield as well as anyone in the league. It might just be time for Reggie Bush to break out.
