Brooklyn Power Forward, Reggie Evans, is the first player in the NBA to receive a $5,000 fine for his second flopping offense. The first offense is merely a warning, however, the ones thereafter result in fines.
While $5,000 isn't a hefty fine for NBA players, the new rule seems to be doing its job. There is a lot less flopping this year than there has been in previous years, which has made the games a lot more enjoyable to watch. Players are now making a concentrated effort to draw real charges as opposed to engaging in histrionics.
