The reports about Andrew Bynum continue to get worse. Bynum’s agent and the Sixers continue to be mum about Bynum’s progression because they may be delaying the inevitable – surgery.
One surgeon speculates that Bynum may be suffering from osteochrondral lesions, which can heal on its own in about 4-6 months. That would mean that Bynum would be out until March. However, if Bynum's knee requires surgery, he would be out the entire year.
As for now, it seems as though the Sixers are willing to wait until December or so to make the official announcement on the health of Bynum.
