Report: Ryan Anderson Out At Least Two Months
The injury bug has not only bitten the New Orleans Pelicans in the month of January; it has devoured them. Point guard, Jrue Holiday, is out another month, Tyreke Evans is battling a repetitive ankle injury, and Ryan Anderson may now be out at least two months.
The Pelicans are 0-5 since Anderson suffered a herniated disc in his lower back and they are clearly missing his ability to spread the floor on offense. Jason Smith and Al-Farouq Aminu are the likely candidates to absorb all of Anderson’s minutes, but neither of them have the ability to spread the floor like Anderson. The Pelicans had a decent shot at making the playoffs this year, but the injuries may prove to be too much for this up and coming team to overcome.
