Report: Clippers Sign Hedo Turkoglu for Rest of Season
According to Ismail Senol and Marc Stein, the Los Angeles Clippers have signed 34-year-old Hedo Turkoglu for the rest of the season. Turkoglu has not played since last season; a season where he was suspended for 20 games due to testing positive for PED’s.
However, the Clippers are not getting much production from the forward position and Turkoglu was supposed to have been impressive during his recent workout with the Clippers. When healthy and inspired, Turkoglu is one of the most versatile players in the league. At 6’9 he has the size of a power forward and can shoot like a shooting guard. Turkoglu can legitimately play four positions on the floor, making him a valuable asset for any team. But Turkoglu has not played up to his potential for nearly two years and joining a team halfway into the season may not be as easy of a transition as the Clippers might think.
However, if they can rejuvenate life into Turkoglu, he could be one of the best acquisitions at this point in the season. They've already tried experimenting with Stephen Jackson and have even thought about bringing back Lamar Odom, but Hedo Turkoglu may have a lot more gas left in his tank than those two players.
