As expected, Richard Jefferson has picked up his $11 million contract. Even though the 32-year-old is hardly ever used, Jefferson would be foolish not to pick up an option that is far more than he would ever receive in a newer contract. Unfortunately, for the Warriors, Andris Beidrins, another bench warmer that rarely sees the floor, has also picked up his $9 million contract.
This is a total of $19 million invested into two players that the Warriors never even play. The good news is, once the Jefferson and Biedrins come off the books next year, the young Warriors will have enough money to pay some of their own players and sign an above average free agent in the summer of 2014.
