Mandatory Credit: Robert Mayer-USA TODAY SportsRight now, the Miami Dolphins are an absolute mess, and it seems to center around a rather disturbing locker room atmosphere.

According to various reports, including one from Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, Richie Incognito has been bullying second-year player Jonathan Martin throughout the season and preseason, and that's part of the reason for Martin leaving the team.

"Among the texts that Jonathan Martin made available to his parents, and then, eventually the Dolphins and the NFL, include those in which Richie Incognito refers to Martin, who is biracial, as a "half-n*****," according to a source who was privy to the communication.

There are several instances of threats as well, the sources said, and overall disturbing exchanges, including one in which Incognito refers to defecating in Martin's mouth.

Incognito also made reference to tracking down members of Martin's family and harming them in the texts as well, according to a source.
"

Incognito went after the media on Twitter yesterday, lashing out at various news organizations, who had all basically reported the same thing:

Incognito's rant certainly doesn't make things look any better for him. Not only is he essentially being accused of bullying a teammate, he's basically bullying the media whose job it is to report on the situation.

Not only is it looking pretty bad for Incognito, it looks like his dad might be taking to Dolphins message boards in defense of his son, and revealing information about Martin that is certainly supposed to be private.

This is a bad situation for the Dolphins, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see some coaches lose their jobs, as well as Incognito's career end after this season, when he'll be a free agent. It's hard to believe that teams would be interested in the kind of locker room cancer that he seems to be.

UPDATE: Via Pro Football Talk, here's an excerpt from Incognito's voicemail that he left for Martin:
"Hey, wassup, you half n—– piece of [expletive] . . . I saw you on Twitter, you been training ten weeks. [I want to] [expletive] in your [expletive] mouth. [I'm going to] slap your [expletive] mouth. [I'm going to] slap your real mother across the face (laughter). [Expletive] you, you’re still a rookie. I’ll kill you."

I wonder if Richie has always been a bully. Has he skated along for all this time, because he was bigger, a good fb player, a jock? With all the news floating around, it looks like the Dolphins orginization will be responsible for investigating with "big brother" watching. I'm not ready to dump everything in the Dolphins lap. Things go on in the locker room, and the coaches can't always be there to watch. These are suppose to be "adults". Why didn't anyone else report it?

Curious to see just how hard the NFL drops the hammer down on the Dolphins coaching staff and front office for the dreaded "lack of institutional control"

Incognito is an overgrown turd. He is what is wro0ng with the sport & the League. Im glad this culture of crap is coming out so it can be addressed & we can move on. No one should tolerate a hostile work enviornment under any circumstances. This guy is a cancer. He gets what he deserves.

And somewhere in the Deep South, John Rocker is setting another place at the table for the newest member of the Bigoted Jackasses Club!

Wow. Incognito is about to find out how George Zimmerman feels. When Al Sharpton is finished hanging Incognito's hide on his office wall, his NFL career will be over, and he'll have a hard time getting a job as a bouncer or a waiter.

When I first heard the story of Martin in the cafeteria, I thought maybe he was just overly sensitive...the more this story develops though, the uglier it gets.
