Rick Ankiel Hits 2nd Home Run of the Day, Movie Rights Currently Being Negotiated
by CriticalFanatic

Just in case you thought Rick Ankiel was brought up because it'd be a good story, I think the guy just might have a spot in this league for good.

1st inning -- 2-Run Home Run
7th inning -- Solo HR again to deep right.

On the day: 3-4, 2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI ... and two curtain calls.

It's hard to imagine this story getting any better.

Cardinals 6, Dodgers 1 (Yahoo)

Only thing that would make this story better is if he hit a Walk off homer, to propel the Cards into the playoffs over the scrubs...i mean Cubs.

The only thing that would make this better, is if he was brought in to close the game in the 9th for kicks and giggles.  How would THAT be for a movie ending?

LMAO I never even thought of that.  Thats makes it even better.  Of course he has to face Lee, Soriano, and Ramirez, or else that just screws it up.

He was a top Rookie to enter the League for the Cards, but when playoffs came he threw 9 (count them) 9 past balls.  Couldn't find the plate.  He could never find his command and gave up pitching in 05.  He focused on being an OF/Power Hitter, and entered as that for the first time a few days ago, hitting Homer numero uno.  Then come two and three.
