Max Hall threw 7 TD passes against UCLA, 6 of them in the first half, and the The beginning of the Rick Neuheisel era looked promising in week 1, when UCLA beat Tennessee in an overtime thriller. But then, the Bruins had to go into Utah and face the 18th-ranked BYU Cougars.
Turnovers were once again a huge factor for UCLA, as they fumbled 4 times, losing 3, and QB Kevin Craft threw one INT. Craft fumbled on consecutive plays at the beginning of the 2nd half. He was able to recover the first one, but BYU fell on the second. In UCLA's first game, Craft threw 4 INT's in the first half.
If UCLA is going to have any success at all this year, they will certainly need to find a way to hold on to the football. The UCLA running game was especially useless, coming up with only 11 yards.
BYU QB Max Hall threw for a ridiculous 7 TD's and only 1 INT, and finished with 272 yards on 27-35 passing, for a 202.7 QB rating.
BYU has now won 13 straight games, which is the longest active streak in the nation. Along with upstart East Carolina, they are the favorites this year among non-BCS conference schools to make it to a BCS bowl.
BYU's next game is next week against Wyoming, who barely beat North Dakota State 16-13 today, and UCLA hosts Arizona next Saturday.
