The Rick Pitino Extortion Case Just Got Messy

As I'm sure you know, the Rick Pitino extortion case has been pretty weird. The woman involved in it, Karen Sypher, was indicted yesterday in Kentucky. The problem is, no one really knows what the case is actually about, and what info Sypher had that she was using to extort Pitino.

Well, we may have our answer now.

Below is a picture that originally appeared on the Courier-Journal newspaper web site. It was taken during the indictment yesterday and it features several protestors who are in the Sypher camp. The young gentleman there holding the sign about abortion is, gulp, one of Sypher's sons.


Interestingly, the Courier-Journal actually cut him out of the picture shortly thereafter. So the pic then looked like this.


Yep, something's definitely missing.

Now, I have no idea if Pitino forcing Sypher to have an abortion is what this is all about, but I'd say it seems pretty likely.

She has nothing. Bill Clinton, Kobe Bryant, Eliot Spitzer and many others have committed adultery. He will get over it.

Hahaha, no problem. As a former journalist, i can understand why they pulled that. Although luckily for us, someone put the pic up for a brief time.

 well i was just being a bit of a smart a$$ with my comment.  I'll be the first to admit  I don't know journalism rules in connection with court cases. i was just making comments based on the original text of the article.

It is her son, we just found that out. As for the media, I don't think it has anything to do with liberal media bias, what it has to do with legal issues. As a paper you're not supposed to present a side of a court case that you don't know to be true. No one knows if this is actually about an abortion yet. So, someone like Pitino could sue for defamation for that picture being in the paper, since it presents a side of the court case that the paper can't confirm.

 Maybe it's not her son.  Maybe the Liberal Biased Media in Louisville didn't want something pro-life on their site.  Or something non-political like that.  And if that is her son, how old is she?  she might be pushing a point where abortions aren't an issue anymore.
