Mandatory Credit: David Richard-USA TODAY SportsRobert Griffin III is one of the biggest endorsers for Adidas right now, and it has caused him to butt heads with the NFL twice now.

The NFL is sponsored by Nike, and apparently all pre-game and post-game attire must be official Nike gear.

RG3 wore an Adidas t-shirt for the post-game news conference on Sunday, and that resulted in a $10,000 fine.

Adidas will most likely pony up the cash, since this is just more publicity for them, and all press is good press when it involves an exceptional athlete like RG3 wearing your products.

The first time he got reprimanded was when he covered up the Nike logo on his practice tee and wrote "heart" over it.

Do you think the NFL should be allowed to dictate even what the players wear AFTER the games? RG3 could have worn a goofy shirt like Russell Westbrook does after NBA games, and it wouldn't have been an issue, no matter what brand it is. Why can't he show his sponsor some love?

ps - If I owned Adidas I would sue the NFL.

then the NFL should guarantee every player they will get a lucrative NIKE deal.  Another example of corporate greed on the sports level.  The NFL is a giant business mosh pit!  It's a joke.

Oh how ridonkulous!!  That would be like my boss telling me I have to wear the shirt we have to wear to work outside of work.  Not ever gonna happen, so RG3 should be able to wear whatever the hell he wants!!!

I understand that Nike needs to keep the monopoly on "on-field" apparel, but this is ridiculous, IMO.
