When Robert Griffin III went down with a devastating knee injury during lasts season's NFL playoffs, he faced a very tough road to setting up behind center by the start of the 2013 regular season. Not long into his recovery, however, it was obvious that he was not taking a typical path towards returning to the field - Griffin was taking an accelerated path more similar to the likes of Adrian Peterson, who tore up his knee on December 24, 2011 and was healthy enough for his team's regular season opener on September 9, 2012.

RG3 has taken another huge step in his recovery process on Monday, and it is a step that very well may have shocked a lot of people in the NFL community. Griffin announced via Twitter on Monday that he has been cleared to practice and will be eased in during training camp. "Thank you for your support & See you in Richmond," Griffin concluded.

Only six months removed from knee surgery, it is extremely impressive that Griffin managed to avoid the active/PUP (physically unable to perform) list at the start of training camp, even if his participation will be limited. It was reported last week that he had a shot at following Peterson's schedule from last offseason, and it appears he is right on that pace, as he now appears likely to start at quarterback in the Redskins' Week 1 game against the Eagles.

Griffin's stock should now begin to rise in fantasy leagues, and will continue to rise steadily assuming he proves he is healthy during camp.

Arguably the most electrifying young player in the game, it's great for fans (other than those of the Redskins' NFC East opponents) to see Griffin on track to play a full season.
