Ron Artest changed his name to Metta World Peace, but there was nothing peaceful about him today, when he delivered a vicious and rather blatant elbow to the head of Thunder guard James Harden.
Artest was assessed with a flagrant foul and ejected immediately, despite trying to convince the referees that it was inadvertent.
Most likely, Artest will be hit with a pretty substantial suspension after this one. For all we've heard about the physicality in the NHL playoffs, this might be the dirtiest play I've seen all year.

What do you think Artest's penalty should be? Is the flagrant foul sufficient, or should he be suspended? If so, for how long?
Since he's the prototypical repeat offender, I'd be in favor of suspending him for the remainder of the season, throughout the playoffs, and 10-20 games into next season. Artest is an absolute head case, and it's obvious that he still hasn't learned a thing, despite numerous suspensions in the past. David Stern has to put his foot down at some point, and now is as good a time as any.
