Ron Jaworski thinks Colin Kaepernick could be the greatest QB of all time

Ron Jaworski made a rather, uh, bold statement about Colin Kaepernick

Mandatory Credit: Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY SportsColin Kaepernick is an extremely talented quarterback. Through his first season of actually playing in the NFL, he made fools of several very good teams, and led the 49ers to an extremely successful playoff run, falling barely short of winning a Super Bowl against the Ravens.

No one can possibly deny that Kaepernick has been successful so far, and that he's capable of being very successful in the future if he maximizes his incredible potential.

But someone, whose opinion is rather respected by many, believes rather strongly that Colin Kaepernick might be the greatest quarterback of all time. Seriously.

ESPN's Ron Jaworski calls #49ers No. 1 team in NFC: "I believe Colin Kaepernick can be the best QB arguably in the history of the NFL."

Again... Kaepernick is incredibly talented. He's a great fit in the 49ers' read option offense. He's very fast. He's got a big arm. If he continues to progress, he could be one of the better QBs in the NFL.

But the best QB in the history of the league?

Come on, Jaws. You're better than that. At least let the guy play a full season before resorting to this level of hyperbole.

Jaworski is an idiot! Don't get me wrong, I think Kaepernick is a really good QB but he's got a long way to go before being the greatest in franchise history much less the GOAT. Now that D coordinators have film on him things will be different. Jaws really shouldn't drink so much when he's on the air, he actually makes Gruden sound sane.

Well now I'm conflicted.

Given that FOX Sports seems to think ESPN is too "nerdy" and they need to out dudebro them, there was never a reason for optimism on that front.

It's unfortunate that Jaws has been fully assimilated into the ESPN Hyperbole Machine.

I haven't even checked it out yet...I'm not even sure I know which channel # it is - I fail. You saying that though doesn't inspire me to put much effort into looking for it!

Ditto - I used to watch SC religiously but stopped that about 10 years ago. Between the insane "analysts" and their lack of hockey coverage, I'm just over it. ESPN is ridiculous.

Couln't agree more, Jess. I never watch an ESPN channel unless a game is on.

ESPN better have a doctor give Jaws the NFL mandated concussion test before sending him back out on TV
