Ronaldinho believes Neymar can do wonders at Barcelona. The Brazil international, who was at Barcelona from 2003 to 2008, reckons compatriot Neymar and Lionel Messi would be unstoppable if they played together.

“Of course I imagine Messi and Neymar playing together at the club, it would be beautiful,” Ronaldinho said.

The two-time FIFA World Player of the Year, Ronaldinho believes Lionel Messi deserves to win his fourth successive Ballon d’Or award after making a new record for the most goals scored in a calendar year and helping Barcelona win Copa del Rey.

“I was very happy when he won his fourth Golden Ball. He deserves it because he is the best.”

Ronaldinho recently claimed Manchester United could have won more European Cups if they had signed him in years ago. Manchester United blew their chance to sign in the attacking midfielder in a transfer battle with Paris Saint-Germain.

“If Manchester United had signed me they would have won more European Cups,” Ronaldinho told sambafoot.com.

“I have played for some of the biggest teams in the world and won everything.”

Ronaldinho reckons his only regret is not to have spent enough years alongside the Argentine football prodigy, Lionel Messi.

“The only thing I regret in my career is not have played more years with Messi,” Ronaldinho continued. “When he was very young I already saw he was the best. It was fun to see when he was a kid, how he did things that most players cannot imagine.”

At 32, Ronaldinho admits he didn’t expect a call up from Brazil’s national team for the friendly against England on Wednesday. Ronaldinho claims he still retains the “style” of play that helped Brazil acquire the World Cup in 2002.

“I play like I did before,” Ronaldinho said in a pre-match news conference at Wembley, London. Ronaldinho added he didn’t expect coach Luiz Felipe Scolari to bring him back into Brazil’s national team.

“I had a very good season last year, so it was something that could happen,” Ronaldinho said. “I am very satisfied that this has come true.”
