Ronda Rousey has officially hit the big time now. She has reportedly been offered a role in the second installment of the 'Hunger Games' trilogy, and she just won the first women's fight in UFC history.
Better yet, there's going to be a Ronda Rousey action figure released in April.
The best part, in my opinion, is "The Arm Collection" that you can see in the bottom right corner.
Rousey has won all of her fights by first round arm bar so far, leaving her with a 7-0 record in professional MMA. There are 8 arms in her "Arm Collection" that comes with the action figure, so perhaps it's a sign of things to come.
Some other impressive touches are the Olympic medal (Rousey won bronze in Judo in the 2008 Beijing games) and the UFC belt.
As far as the potential acting career goes, UFC president Dana White says that Rousey could earn more by sticking with MMA rather than taking on the 'Hunger Games' role.
White obviously doesn't want Rousey to go the way of Gina Carano, the former Strikeforce women's champ who dabbled in acting, only to quit MMA altogether in favor of her cinematic career.
It seems a bit disingenuous to say that Rousey couldn't make as much as a movie lead as she could make in MMA. The UFC is notorious for low fighter pay, and a couple losses could make Rousey (and the entire women's division) a casualty just like Jon Fitch, who was recently the 9th ranked welterweight right before getting unceremoniously axed by the UFC.
It's a fickle business, and Dana White is riding the hot hand right now. But Ronda might not always be this marketable, and she may want to keep that in mind before turning down a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
